Raw Recap: SmackDown Superstars Invade

Tonight, Monday Night Raw closes the book on TLC and looks forwards toward Survivor Series. Along with a few TLC rematches, there is a women’s triple threat match and a surprise appearance from the SmackDown Live roster in the main event.

Opening Segment
To kick off the showqAlexa Bliss vs. Natalya, Miz vs. Baron Corbin, Ambrose & Rollins vs. The Usos, Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar. Two elimination matches: men’s and women’s.

Angle looks to head to the back after the news, but he is interrupted by The Miz. The Miz insults Angle and makes excuses for losing a five-on-three handicap match to the Raw General Manager and the Shield. Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro surround the ring looking to attack Angle when Ambrose and Rollins appear to help him out. Before the segment ends, he announces a six-man tag team match with the Raw Tag Team Champions teaming up with SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles.

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, & AJ Styles vs. The Miz, Sheamus, & Cesaro
Instead of flying back to South America to join the SmackDown Live crew, AJ Styles is spending one more night with the Raw roster. One night after a great match against The Demon Finn Balor, Styles teams up with two members of the Shield to take on a team who looks to take over Raw.

Rollins and Ambrose take out The Miz and Sheamus outside the ring, giving AJ Styles the opportunity to take out Cesaro with the Phenomenal Forearm. Winners: Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, & AJ Styles

While the winning team celebrates, Kane shows up to attack his opponents from last night. With the help of Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro, he lays out Rollins, Ambrose, and Styles. After the commercial, Kane is still in the ring with a microphone to address Braun Strowman. Kane says that he is the only monster on Raw after crushing Strowman in a garbage truck. He then takes a page out of Strowman’s playbook, demanding “competition or else.”

Kane vs. Finn Balor
It didn’t take long for Kane to find an opponent. Finn Balor, as his own Demon, defeated AJ Styles last night at TLC and a win here over Kane could be huge.

After three chokeslams to the former Universal Champion, Kane picks up the victory on his way to an eventual match with Braun Strowman. Winner: Kane

Asuka vs. Emma
Last night, Asuka made her main roster debut by defeating Emma in an incredible opening match. Emma is bitter about her loss and looks to get revenge and to be the first woman to defeat Asuka.

They put on another entertaining match which is different enough from their previous encounter to remain fresh. Emma looks to roll up Asuka, but the Empress of Tomorrow counters into the Asuka Lock, forcing Emma to tap out. Winner (via submission): Asuka

In-ring Segment
After successfully retaining the Raw Women’s Championship against Mickie James, Alexa Bliss comes to the ring bragging and demanding respect. She then gets interrupted by James, who lays her out with a DDT.

Elias Samson vs. Jason Jordan
Here is yet another rematch from TLC. Elias Samson and Jason Jordan had an impromptu match in the cooldown spot of the Pay-Per-View and Jordan only won because the referee didn’t see Samson kick out. Samson gets a chance to make up for an unfair loss tonight.

Jordan looks to spear Samson through the barricade, but Samson smashes his guitar across Jordan’s shoulder. After Samson disqualifies himself, Jordan is helped to the back by officials.

Paul Heyman Responds to Jinder Mahal
Last week, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar for the main event match at Survivor Series. Lesnar and Paul Heyman laugh at Mahal, saying that he isn’t worthy of pretending to be the WWE Champion, let alone actually holding the title. After trash-talking Mahal for a few minutes, Heyman officially accepts the challenge and guarantees a one-way trip to Suplex City.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Alicia Fox
Earlier tonight, Kurt Angle announced that there will be a five-on-five women’s elimination tag team match between Raw and SmackDown Superstars. With no women determined for the match, Angle decided to make this triple threat match with the winner becoming the team captain. Sasha Banks has the most success coming into this match, defeating Alicia Fox for the third consecutive time last night.

Alica Fox runs Bayley and Sasha Banks head first into each other, then she pins Bayley to pick up the match and to become the captain of Raw’s female Survivor Series team. Fox’s over-the-top craziness will make the team building very entertaining and Fox is coming into her own as of late. Winner: Alicia Fox

Team Lucha Lucha (Kalisto, Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, & Gran Metalik) vs. The Zo Train (Enzo Amore, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, & Noam Dar)
After properly representing 205 Live for the past couple weeks, Raw tonight gets a match that throws almost the entire division into a multi-man tag match. Before this match, it was announced that this week’s episode of 205 Live will feature a Cruiserweight Championship rematch between Kalisto and Enzo Amore.

After most men are laid out at ringside, Kalisto hits Enzo Amore with the Salida Del Sol to win the match. If he does this in his championship match tomorrow, he will quickly become a two-time Cruiserweight Champion. Winners: Team Lucha Lucha

Kurt Angle Announces Male Team Raw for Survivor Series
Raw General Manager Kurt Angle heads to the ring to announce the five men representing Raw in the Survivor Series tag team elimination match when he is interrupted by Shane McMahon and a good portion of the SmackDown Live roster.

The SmackDown roster heads through the backstage area and assaults everyone in their path, from Titus Worldwide to some Raw intern to The Shield and some of the Raw women’s division. Shane O’Mac and his Land of Opportunity send a message to Kurt Angle and the Raw crew, with some questions brewing about what will happen on SmackDown Live tomorrow night.
