Respect The Hustle Podcast – Episode 22

This week on the Respect the Hustle Podcast, college basketball analyst offers his takes on the NCAA Tournament that has finally, after more than two weeks, dwindled down to the Final Four.

Speaking of that Final Four, after the first two days of the tournament offered up insane buzzer-beating shots, unimaginable upsets, and the crowning of both new and old Cinderellas, we’re left with a fairly recognizable Final Four. In fact, despite the early flurries of upsets, this year lacked a true Cinderella at all. According to Whelan, when it comes to media and fan darlings that are double-digit seeds in the Big Dance, this was not exactly a banner year given that the only two double-digit seeds advancing were the Orange and Gonzaga.

As a 10-seed, Syracuse is obviously the odd-man out in the group. But that’s not to say this team, led by Jim Boeheim, is playing the role of a true Cinderella. Along with North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Villanova, we’ve got a true power-conference and power program slate for this coming weekend. William takes a look at the paths each team took to reach the Final Four, the historical greatness of Buddy Hield, and provides a brief tease of the in-depth match up analysis he’ll drop right before the games tip.

Somewhere between psychotic and iconic, William finds refuge in the sound of a leather ball bouncing on a wooden floor, preferably with a Burgundy in hand.
