One year after the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s time to take a fresh look at how teams might have approached their selections knowing what they know now. The landscape of the league has shifted with early performances from rookies providing much-needed clarity about their professional potential. With that in mind, analysts have redrafted the first two rounds, reordering all 64 original picks based on player impact, team fit, and positional value.

Some notable changes in this redraft include linebacker Abdul Carter, originally selected later in the draft, now rising to be picked by the New York Jets. His early impact as a tackling leader and his ability to command the middle of the field made him a standout player among his rookie class. On the offensive side of the ball, quarterback Tyler Shough, who showed significant improvement in decision-making and accuracy during the past season, is now slotted to go to the Cleveland Browns. The Browns, seeking more stability at quarterback, would benefit from Shough’s quick development.

Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, praised for his route-running and reliable hands during his rookie year, sees his stock rise as well. He lands with the San Francisco 49ers in the redraft, a team that could use depth and explosiveness at the receiver position. Egbuka’s refined skills and growing chemistry with quarterbacks make him one of the more intriguing offensive players of last year’s class.

Across the board, the redraft reflects how quickly perceptions of young talents can evolve once they start competing at the professional level. Some picks from the original draft remain largely unchanged, indicating early confirmation of pre-draft projections, while others have seen swings both up and down based on injuries, scheme fit, or available opportunities on their rosters.

This exercise underscores the unpredictable nature of the NFL draft and reminds teams and fans alike how challenging it is to evaluate talent and project success in the league. As the 2026 season approaches, the contributions of this 2025 draft class will continue to shape rosters and team strategies for years to come.
