Rice Owls at Houston Cougars Betting Prediction

The Owls come in on a high note after topping the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in their last outing, 73-59. Rice’s free throw rate was their biggest strength over Alabama A&M. The Owls had a rate of 0.295, while the Bulldogs posted a mark of 0.125. Rice received a boost from Ako Adams, who was the game’s high scorer with 22 points on 7-for-9 shooting.

In the Cougars’ previous outing, they easily got past the Alabama A&M Bulldogs, 101-54. The Cougars had a much better free throw rate (0.197 vs. 0.056) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (33.3 vs. 12.1). Armoni Brooks was the game’s leading scorer with 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field.

Houston could have their way on the offensive side of the ball as their prolific offense faces off against one of the NCAA’s worst defenses. Since the 2017-18 season, the Cougars rank 29th in offensive efficiency, while Rice ranks 258th in defensive efficiency.
