Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors

Spread: Golden State Warriors -14 (-110) at BetDSI Sportsbook

Total: Over/Under

The Kings are eager to bounce back after a narrow loss to the Clippers

The Sacramento Kings wanted to record wins against both Los Angeles rivals following a 113:102 victory over the Lakers, but the Clippers prevented them in doing so as Blake Griffin scored a basket with three seconds remaining and Doc Rivers’ side escaped with a 97:95 win. Sacramento is currently in the 14th position in the Western Conference with the 5-14 record, and they have just one away win, so getting another one here is almost mission impossible.

Losing the third quarter by 19 points and scoring miserable ten was the man reason for Sacramento’s defeat against the Clippers. The Kings were pretty equal with Los Angeles in key segments such as rebounding, assists, and turnovers, but Dave Joerger’s side lost because of lack of experience and Clippers’ excellent defense in the third period. Buddy Hield led the Kings with a season-high 27 points (10-18 FG, and career-high seven triples on nine attempts), and he also added five rebounds, while Zach Randolph posted 17 points and seven boards. George Hill chipped in with ten points, Bogdan Bogdanovic had ten points and a couple of steals, while Willie Cauley-Stein finished the game with nine points, six rebounds, two thefts, and game-high three rejections. De’Aaron Fox and Garrett Temple disappointed with four points apiece, and I think they will bounce back on Monday, but don’t expect any miracles from the pair. Cauley-Stein has a favorable matchup against Zaza Pachulia and should own the paint, while Randolph’s duel with Draymond Green will be quite interesting to watch. Bogdanovic should lead the second unit and score double digits, but George Hill’s inconsistency and just 9.1 ppg and 2.5 apg is very concerning for Joerger, and the veteran point guard must improve quickly or Fox will east more of his minutes as a result.

Dave Joerger is happy to have all players at his disposal as no new injuries occurred, so the squad is healthy and ready to go against the reigning champions on Monday. Sacramento is hoping to end the three-game losing streak with Golden State, while the Kings are without a win at Oracle Arena in the previous eight encounters. The Kings are scoring 94.32 points per contest on average (30th in the NBA), while they are allowing 105.11 points in return (14th in the NBA). Sacramento is among the league’s top ten teams (7th) when it comes to shooting from beyond the arc (37.78), but they are very weak when it comes to road matches as they are averaging mere 90.80 points which is the worst record in the NBA. The offense is horrible, and Sacramento manages to make up with with some excellent D, but that is not enough so far, and they must improve in the offensive end or will continue to struggle.

The Warriors are looking for the fifth win in six matches

The Golden State Warriors are welcoming the Kings in their third consecutive game at Oracle Arena, and are hoping for another victory following a 110:95 W over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. Steve Kerr’s side is in the second position in the Western Conference with the same number of victories as the Houston Rockets (15), but they suffered one more loss. With a potential win here and Houston’s defeat to Brooklyn, the Warriors could return to the top of the conference.

Despite losing the opening quarter by 14 points, Golden State responded excellently and won the remaining three periods, even though the Warriors didn’t have the great shooting percentage (41.5%) and 30.3% from the perimeter. The big difference in assists (30-24), turnovers (9-17), and steals (11-2) played a significant part in a victory as the Warriors displayed a fantastic defensive performance, limiting the Pelicans to just 42 points in the second half. Steph Curry led Golden State with 27 points (9-25 FG, 3-13 3PT, 6-6 FT), six dishes, and four boards, while Klay Thompson followed him with 24 points (9-19 FG, 4-8 3PT), four rebounds, two steals, and team-high two blocks. Andre Iguodala scored a season-high 14 points off the bench, along with four assists and a couple of thefts, while Zaza Pachulia contributed with ten points, six boards, and game-high three steals. Curry and Thompson are obvious players to watch for the hosts, especially if Kevin Durant is forced to sit this one out, but I expect Draymond Green to have a great game in a favorable matchup against the Kings. He should play a vital role in the defense, and if he manages to limit Randolph to below 15 points, I think the Warriors will be close to secure an easy victory.

Steve Kerr could be without Kevin Durant for this tilt as Durantula missed three out of the previous four matches with an ankle injury and is questionable to face Sacramento. In case he’s out, Omri Casspi and Andre Iguodala will share KD’s minutes, while Green will have more responsibilities in the offense. Kerr doesn’t have any other injury-related issues as the rest of the squad is healthy and raring to go. The Warriors are scoring 117.40 points per contest on average (1st in the NBA), while they are allowing 106.20 points in return (18th in the NBA). Golden State is the best team in the league when it comes to field goal percentage (50.81%), and they are second in the NBA in three-point shooting (39.68%). The Warriors are among the top five teams (2nd) in the association in free-throw shooting (82.27%), while their defense is at the top of the league in allowing just 42.79% from the field to the opponents.

Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors Trends & Prediction

The Kings are 7-10-2 against the spread (1-7-2 away), while they are 9-10 on over/under (5-5 away), so it is not that easy to predict the duel between the top scoring team and the worst scoring team in the NBA. I am backing the hosts to destroy the sorry Kings, but I am not sure about the points.

The Warriors are 9-11 against the spread (5-5 home), while they are 10-9-1 on over/under (5-5 home), so making a right decision when Golden State plays is a rather tough thing to do. Nevertheless, I think Kerr’s side will dismantle the visitors, so I am backing them on this one.

My Pick: Golden State Warriors -14 (-110)

Total: Pass
