The San Francisco Giants are ready to face off against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. This NL matchup will be nationally broadcasted on Fox and the game gets underway 7:15 p.m. ET.

San Francisco Giants at Chicago Cubs Odds

The Cubs are 26-21 SU and 20-26 ATS. The team’s lost 6.2 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 6.8 units against the spread (ATS). Chicago has a 3-4 ATS mark over its last seven games and the under has cashed in four of those seven. On the other hand, the Giants are 24-27 SU and have gone 29-21 ATS. In total, the team’s gained 1.6 units for moneyline bettors in the season’s early going and 5.5 units ATS. San Franciscohas covered the spread just twice over its last seven games and the total has gone over in four of those seven.

Chris Stratton will get the start for the visiting Giants. The right-handed Stratton is 5-3 with a 4.92 ERA and 42 strikeouts. He has yet to face the Cubs this year and did not record a start against them in 2017, either.

The Cubs are turning to lefty Jose Quintana (5-3, 4.47 ERA), who’s got 45 strikeouts and 25 walks as well as a WHIP of 1.47. Quintana only made one start against the Giants in 2017 (0-1, 4.50 ERA and three strikeouts across six innings).

As a unit, Chicago’s pitchers have allowed 3.8 runs per game overall this year. The club’s starters have a 3.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.3 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a solid ERA of just 2.83, a WHIP of 1.22 and a K/9 of 9.2.

The Chicago hitters have produced 5.2 runs per contest, including 4.4 per game over its last 10 games and 4.6 per game over their last five. The team has slashed .255/.359/.406 over its last five matchups and is 3-2 SU during that stretch.

The Cubs’ offense has been led by third baseman Kris Bryant and second baseman Javier Baez. Bryant is hitting .301/.419/.564 with eight home runs, 26 RBIs and 29 runs scored, while Baez’s line sits at .263/.296/.553 with 11 homers, 38 RBIs, 29 runs and seven stolen bases.

In the other dugout, San Francisco’s pitchers have allowed 4.8 runs per game and its starters own a 4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 6.90 K/9. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 4.25, along with a WHIP of 1.37.

The Giants offense has slashed .256/.318/.405 on its way to 4.0 runs scored per game this season, including 4.5 runs per game over the team’s last 10 games and 4.6 per game over the team’s last five contests (2-3 SU).

First baseman Brandon Belt and shortstop Brandon Crawford continue to lead San Francisco’s hitters. Belt is hitting .316/.413/.585 with 11 home runs, 29 RBIs and 29 runs scored, while Crawford is slashing .306/.349/.465 with five homers, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored.

Compared to his overall season slash line of .241/.355/.469, Belt seemed to have some trouble hitting lefties last year, maintaining a slash line of .223/.313/.400 across 147 plate appearances.

The Giants have gained 7.0 units and are 14-6 ATS when facing a left-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has cashed in 13 of those games, compared to seven that’ve hit the under against lefties. On the other hand, the Cubs have lost 5.8 units and are 15-20 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher. The over has hit in 15 of those games, compared to 19 that’ve gone under.
