David Ousted Tops Saturday’s MLS Fantasy Selections

Ousted is a strong choice in goal this week.

There is a full slate of MLS soccer games to choose from when building your DraftKings daily fantasy league team for Saturday and Sunday but managing your cap space while spreading the talent across the board can be a difficult task.

Well, that’s what we’re here for. We’ve sifted through the rosters and narrowed down our best bets for your starting XI for this weekend.

GK: David Ousted, Vancouver

Ousted ranks third among all MLS goalkeepers in fantasy points for this season and the Whitecaps have a decent matchup against San Jose this weekend. The Whitecaps have allowed only six goals in six games this season. With DC United keeper Bill Hamid dealing with a talented Red Bulls team, it makes more sense to go with Ousted as the goalkeeper in your starting XI.

D: Jason Hernandez, New York

Hernandez leads all New York City players in fantasy points this season and you have to like his chances of that continuing considering the matchup. A visit to the last place Philadelphia Union this weekend should give him the opportunity to score a clean sheet. Philadelphia has just five goals in five games, so the clean sheet could provide some bonus points for his overall fantasy total.

D: DaMarcus Beasley, Houston

No Dynamo player has more fantasy points so far this season than Beasley as he’s done an excellent job on the back end. Houston hosts a Montreal team that has managed to score just two goals so far this season, so the potential for the clean sheet bonus is definitely in play here.

D: Tyrone Mears, Seattle

Mears has been a welcome addition to the Sounders lineup after spending the last three years playing for Bolton. Mears ranks sixth among all MLS defenders in fantasy points for this season and he should be in for a big performance in a key game against the LA Galaxy.

M: Kaka, Orlando City

Kaka ranks third among all midfielders in fantasy points so far and beyond his talent, the fact that Orlando City SC relies on him so heavily in all situations means he should continue to produce at an elite level on a consistent basis.

M: Kelyn Rowe, New England

Rowe leads all midfielders in fantasy points this year and with the Revolution heating up after a slow start, his potential ceiling is still very high. New England hosts Columbus this weekend. Considering they’ve allowed four goal in their last two games, Rowe should have plenty of space to operate in front of the home fans.

M: Luis Silva, DC United

Silva scored on his only shot on goal last week from a set piece, which was quite nice. While his production can waiver based on his playing time, he certainly deserves more opportunities after last week’s performance. DC United hosts the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, so they will need a big performance from Silva from set pieces.

F: Obafemi Martins, Seattle

Martins spin-o-rama goal was one of the highlights of last week’s MLS action and the Sounders will need another big performance out of him this weekend when they go up against the defending champion LA Galaxy. Martins has three goals on four shots on target this season and if he can increase the number of shots he puts on net, it should translate to more goals in a key game this weekend.

F: Kekuta Manneh, Vancouver

Manneh was an absolute beast in the Whitecaps game against the Galaxy last weekend and while a mid-week tilt against Columbus means nothing in terms of his fantasy value for this weekend (since we’re focused on dailies here), he should be in line for another strong performance against a San Jose team that has conceded seven goals in five games played this season.

D: Chris Tierney, New England
