Saturday NHL Fantasy Six: John Tavares and Islanders Look For A Turnaround

John Tavares and the Islanders should get back on track against Buffalo

Here is your Saturday Fantasy Pick Six with sleeper at no extra charge.

Left Wing – Nick Foligno – Columbus Blue Jackets

Red hot Columbus hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins at 2 p.m. ET.  The Jackets have won 11 out of their last 12 while Pittsburgh has lost seven out of their last 10 and is sorely missing injured top defenseman Kris Letang.  Foligno has 27 goals, 40 assists and a plus-11 on the season with two goals, two assists, and a plus-four in his last five games.

Center – John Tavares – New York Islanders

It has been a terrible stretch for the New York Islanders as they have lost eight out of their last ten but have a chance to stop the bleeding against the Buffalo Sabres with faceoff time set for 7 p.m. ET.  Tavares is the Isles leading scorer with 35 goals and 44 assists and should feast against a Buffalo team that ranks 29th in the NHL for goals against and 30th for penalty killing.

Right Wing – Marion Gaborik – Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are coming off an 8-2 statement making blowout win over Edmonton and cannot letup as they are in the final playoff spot in the West.  The Kings host the Colorado Avalanche at 10 p.m. ET.  Colorado ranks 24th in the NHL for goals against and Gaborik should get his share of chances.  Gaborik has 25 goals and 20 assists on the season with a plus seven and has three goals with one assist and a plus-two in his last five games.

Defenseman – Johnny Boychuk – New York Islanders

Boychuk had eight goals and 26 assists with a plus-11 on the season but has just one goal, one assist, and a minus-one in his last five games.  Boychuk should get back on track against woeful Buffalo.

Defenseman – Jack Johnson – Columbus Blue Jackets

Johnson has a good shot to reach the scoresheet against the reeling Penguins.  Johnson has eight goals and 28 assists on the season with three goals and one assist in his last five games.

Goalie – Jaroslav Halak – New York Islanders

Despite their recent woes the Islanders have gotten solid goaltending from Halak, who has a .931 save percentage in his last five games with one shutout.

Sleeper – Travis Hammond – New York Islanders

The young Islander defenseman has five goals and 27 assists on the season with a plus-16 and should pad those totals against the Sabres.
