Seattle Mariners – Oakland Athletics Preview – 08.12.2016

In the first of a three-game series between the Oakland Athletics (51-64) and the Seattle Mariners (60-53) at O.C. Coliseum, Sean Manaea (3-7, 4.58 ERA) and Ariel Miranda (1-0, 6.00 ERA) get the start. The Mariners enter this series on a six-game winning streak. The game gets underway at 10:05 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 12 and will air on CSCA and RTNW.

In his last start, Manaea pitched 6.0 innings, giving up two runs, striking out four and walking two in a 3-1 loss to the Cubs. Khris Davis (.249, 54 Rs, 27 HRs, 70 RBIs, 1 SB) went 1 for 1 yesterday. The Mariners were victorious over the Tigers 6-5 the last time Miranda pitched. He went 1.0 inning, allowing one run and striking out one. Nelson Cruz (.285, 64 Rs, 28 HRs, 72 RBIs) has been doing well offensively for the Mariners, going 3 for 4 Wednesday with one run, one home run, and one RBI.

Oakland is a -130 favorite in this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is eight runs. The Athletics are 16-22 as the favorite and have an overall money line of -950. They have a 21-24 record SU and are 4-10 as favorite within their division. Oakland has averaged 4.4 runs per game during divisional play, higher than its season average of 4.0.
