The Senegalese Football Federation has filed an official complaint regarding what it describes as inadequate conditions ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against host nation Morocco. In a statement released this week, the federation cited concerns over security arrangements, accommodation quality, training facility standards, and ticket allocations leading up to Sunday’s title match.

The complaint, submitted to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), outlines a range of logistical and organizational issues that the Senegalese team alleges have negatively impacted its preparation for the final. Among the concerns raised were insufficient security measures at team facilities, substandard lodging conditions that did not meet expected international standards, and limited access to quality training grounds. Additionally, the federation criticized what it characterized as an unfair distribution of tickets, suggesting that an imbalance may limit support for the Senegalese side during the final.

The statement from Senegal emphasized the importance of fair play and equitable treatment of all teams, especially in a tournament of AFCON’s stature. Without naming specific incidents, the federation suggested that the hosting nation, Morocco, had not met the impartial standards expected in major international competitions. Officials highlighted their belief that fair preparation conditions are essential to maintaining the integrity of the tournament.

Neither CAF nor the Moroccan Football Federation has publicly responded to Senegal’s complaints as of the time of this report. The situation has drawn attention in the lead-up to Sunday’s match, with observers noting the implications such a complaint could have on tournament proceedings and host responsibilities.

The AFCON final marks a significant event in African football, with both Senegal and Morocco vying for continental supremacy. Senegal, the defending champion, is seeking its second consecutive title, while Morocco aims to capitalize on home-field advantage to win its first AFCON crown since 1976.

As teams complete final preparations, focus remains on ensuring that matchday proceedings are conducted fairly and safely for all participants.
