The Hottest Soccer Transfer Rumors And How They Affect Fantasy Soccer Owners

Pogba is a name that's been blowing in the speculation winds quite a bit.

There is a good chance that one or more of the stars on your fantasy team have been involved in rumors this season and it can be really annoying at times separating the fact from the fiction. But you have to keep your finger on the pulse because if speculation becomes fact, then your team will be affected – especially those in keeper leagues. On that note, here are the biggest transfer rumors going on right now.

Kevin De Bruyne – Wolfsburg

The 23-year-old midfielder has emerged in to a key player on the transfer market thanks to his elite skill level but the demands of his agent have been criticized for being unrealistic – to say the least. That could hold up any potential move for the immediate future. Clubs have been told by his agent Patrick De Koster that De Bruyne is worth a minimum of 50 million euros and it will be interesting to see if one team or more is willing to invest that kind of money.

De Bruyne does lead the Bundesliga with 16 assists and considering that no other player in any other league has more than 10, the asking price for his talent in the midfield might actually be worth it to a top club in dire need of an upgrade. De Bruyne has produced at an elite level this season so it’s hard to imagine a change in scenery having a positive impact on him from a fantasy perspective.

Angel Di Maria – Manchester United

It certainly didn’t take long for the Argentine playmaker to fall out of favor with United manager Louis van Gaal and there have been persistent rumors that Di Maria will try to force his move in the summer transfer window. While the Red Devils management could be willing to move him already, that might not necessarily be bad news for Di Maria’s fantasy owners considering that even with his situation at United, he still sits at second place among assist leaders in the Premier League with nine. Di Maria can be erratic and make poor decisions at times, but he is still an elite playmaker that could produce at an even higher level depending if and when he is moved.

Paul Pogba – Juventus

With the rumors swirling about Di Maria’s potential exit, another name that has been talked about in regards to transfer talks about United is the Juventus central midfielder Pogba. It would certainly cost the Red Devils a ton of money to acquire the 22-year-old but he has an elite skill set that make him a real threat every time he touches the ball. If they do end up moving Di Maria, then United could very well end up having enough money to complete a deal with Juventus.

Miralem Pjanic – Roma

The 24-year-old Pjanic has transformed himself in to a world-class midfielder that has shown an elite skill set and the ability to complete his passes at an exceptionally high rate. That’s why it wouldn’t be a surprise if a club took a chance on him in the summer. Pjanic has been linked to a move to Liverpool and he could end up being a perfect fit in their midfield moving forward. The Reds are intent on making moves to upgrade their offense and if they end up spending heavily, then Pjanic could find himself in a place where his skill set would be put to better use. As a result, his fantasy production could increase.

Raheem Sterling – Liverpool

There are some that don’t feel Liverpool would move one of their key strikers but according to reports the contract extension talks between the two sides have reached a standstill and there is a could chance that Sterling could end up forcing their hand. Sterling has overcome a season marred by injuries to score six goals and record seven assists in just 28 Premier League games. There was a good chance his numbers would be even better if he wasn’t constantly dealing with nagging injuries. Sterling is one of the most talented names on this list but that will only make Liverpool that much more intent on getting something done with no real capable replacement readily available.
