GIRONA vs. REAL MADRID

Three-Way: 1: Girona +1400; X: +610 Draw; 2: Real Madrid -286 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread +1.5: Girona +125; Real Madrid -130

Total +3.5: Over +106; Under -110

GIRONA

The White and Reds took an important three points in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga against Deportivo La Coruna on the road, and now they can face Real Madrid in a relaxed manner. After the first nine rounds, Girona is laying at the 15th spot of the La Liga table with nine points, a 9:14 goal difference and a form of WLDLD.

Girona’s players created 92 scoring chances so far, and only four teams are better in this category (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Real Sociedad), which is pretty encouraging fact for the newcomers. Unfortunately, they didn’t take advantage of these chances, scoring just nine goals, enough for two victories and three draws out of nine games.

The 31-year old striker Cristhian Stuani is leading his team with four goals in seven appearances. He missed the last game with Deportivo La Coruna due to a yellow card suspension, and we expect to see him back on the field against Real Madrid. The 25-year old attacking midfielder Portu scored the winning goal last weekend at La Coruna, his second of the season, while the 24-year old forward Olarenwaju Kayode, who’s playing on loan from Manchester City, is a leading assistant with two dishes in nine appearances.

The manager Pablo Machin still has some injury worries at the defensive line, as Marc Muniesa (muscular problems), and Pedro Alcala (malleolar injury) are both sidelined for the next game.

REAL MADRID

Los Blancos are finally on the winning path in the Spanish La Liga, as they’ve won four games in a row after the shocking defeat against Betis at home in the fifth round. With 20 points and an 18:7 goal difference Real Madrid is at the third spot of the La Liga table after the first nine rounds, five points behind the leader Barcelona. In the previous round Los Blancos have beaten Eibar at home, 3:0, finally scoring more than two goals in one game.

Zinedine Zidane’s boys created 139 scoring chances so far, and they are the most dangerous team in the league, but their finishing was quite poor. We still expect to see more goals from them in the future, while they have the ball on their feet for 58% of the time per game with 87% of average pass accuracy. Defensively, there are some troubles, as Real Madrid recorded just 25 defensive actions per game, winning 51% of aerial duels, and 38% of tackles.

Karim Benzema and Marcelo co-operated for Los Blancos’ third goal against Eibar, and they are finally fit after some injury problems. The 21-year old winger Marco Asensio got his third goal of the season last weekend, and he’s now the team’s leading scorer. Cristiano Ronaldo bagged just once in five La Liga appearances, and the fans are waiting for the Portuguese star to show some magic. The 25-year old midfielder Isco is in a good form this season with two goals, three dishes and 16 key passes on his account.

With some injured players among the squad, the manager Zinedine Zidane will have some problems to field the best eleven against Girona on Sunday. The Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic is sidelined with the rupture of the patella, while Gareth Bale is suffering from a calf injury. The goalkeeper Keylor Navas is doubtful due to a tear in the abductor muscle, and it’s still unknown when we’ll see the right-back Daniel Carvajal (virus infection) back on the pitch.

GIRONA vs. REAL MADRID – Match Prediction

Real Madrid is a huge favorite in this clash, and I expect to see them winning by a bigger margin. They need to improve their finishing, while Cristiano Ronaldo is surely ready to score a couple of goals.

MY PICK: Real Madrid AH -1.5 (-130)

GETAFE vs. REAL SOCIEDAD

Three-Way: 1: Getafe +170; X: +243 Draw; 2: Real Sociedad +197

Spread 0: Getafe -114; Real Sociedad +108

Total +2.5: Over +106; Under -111

GETAFE

After two consecutive defeats against Deportivo La Coruna, 2:1, and Real Madrid, 2:1, Getafe grabbed a point on the road against Levante, 1:1, in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga. The Deep Blues are sitting at the 14th place of the after the first nine rounds with nine points, an 11:10 goal difference and a form of DLLWD.

At home, they have recorded one victory against Villarreal, 4:0, and three losses against some of the toughest opponents in the La Liga – Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Sevilla. Getafe played pretty well on the road, recording one victory, three draws, and just one defeat. Against Real Sociedad, they will try to improve their home record, but it’s going to be another difficult match in front of the home fans.

The 30-year old striker Angel Rodriguez, who arrived from Real Zaragoza this summer, is leading his team with three goals in five appearances, while his colleague Jorge Molina added two in nine apps this season. The 29-year old attacking midfielder Faycal Fajr is a creative force with two assists and 15 key passes, also adding a goal to his name.

The manager Jose Bordalas is still without the winger Dani Pacheco, who’s struggling with a shoulder injury, while Jefferson Montero is suffering from a calf injury. The midfielder Gaku Shibasaki could be back on the field after he missed a couple of games due to a foot injury.

REAL SOCIEDAD

Real Sociedad missed a plenty of chances last weekend against Espanyol at Anoeta, earning just a point in the end, 1:1. They were a far better team, but after Espanyol’s early goal, Real Sociedad struggled to level the game. In the 69th minute, Asier Illarramendi scored his third goal in nine La Liga appearances, proving he’s in a great form this season. Real Sociedad created 12 scoring chances, and they took 17 shots on Espanyol’s goal, so there’s certainly some disappointment with the final result.

After the first nine rounds, Real Sociedad is laying at the ninth place of the Spanish La Liga table with 14 points, a 20:18 goal difference and a form of DWDLL. They created 94 scoring chances so far, and with 20 goals scored they are the third most efficient team in the league. On the other side, their defense is pretty weak, allowing 18 goals so far, which is two goals per game. There are just a few teams with a worse defense around the league.

The 20-year old winger Mikel Oyarzabal is a team’s leading scorer with four goals in six appearances. The forwards Willian Jose and Juanmi, and a midfielder Asier Illarramendi added three goals each. The experienced midfielder Xabi Prieto is a top assistant with three dishes, while he also has 12 key passes on his account.

The manager Eusebio will have some problems to field his best eleven on Sunday, as Asier Illarramendi will have to serve the red card suspension, while Carlos Martinez (ruptured cruciate ligament), Inigo Martinez (muscular problems), David Zurutuza (hamstring injury), and Imanol Agirretxe (hamstring injury) are all sidelined.

GETAFE vs. REAL SOCIEDAD

Both teams are playing in the on-off form recently, so it’s going to be difficult to predict what can happen in this clash. Getafe will try to gladden their fans, but Real Sociedad’s players certainly want to take something from this game. Maybe it looks like a potential draw, and I’ll go with both teams to score here, as Real Sociedad’s defense is pretty fragile, while their attack is deadly this season.

MY PICK: Both Teams to Score YES (-120)
