DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA vs. ATHLETIC BILBAO

3-Way: 1: Deportivo La Coruna +188; X: +244 Draw; 2: Athletic Bilbao +179 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread 0: Deportivo La Coruna +104; Athletic Bilbao -105

Total +2.5: Over +110; Under -111

DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA

Depor played a thrilling game in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga when they were beaten by Malaga on the road, 3:2, although Deportivo had a 2:1 lead early in the second half. It was their second consecutive defeat and fourth in last five matches in all competitions. They have lost three games in a row at home, including a 4:1 defeat against Las Palmas in the first leg of the Spanish Copa del Rey round of 32.

After the first twelve rounds of the Spanish La Liga, Deportivo La Coruna is in the 16th spot of the table with 11 points, a 15:23 goal difference, and a 3-2-7 record, just four points above the relegation zone. At home, Depor has recorded two wins and four losses with a 6:11 goal difference, while on the road they have earned five points with a 1-2-3 record, and a 9:12 goal difference.

The 29-year old forward Lucas Perez is leading his team with four goals in ten appearances so far, while the midfielder Celso Borges bagged three goals in 11 matches this season. The 24-year old striker Florin Andone is the top assist-maker with two dishes in ten apps, also adding two goals to his name, while eight other players made one assist each thus far.

The manager Cristobal Parralo is still missing the winger Carles Gil (groin injury), and for the next match he cannot count on the left-back Luisinho, and the midfielder Guilherme, as both players will have to serve the yellow card suspension.

ATHLETIC BILBAO

The Lions put an end to a three-game losing string with a 1:1 draw with Villarreal at home in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga. They were pretty lucky as Villarreal missed from the penalty spot in the first half, but in the end, it was a well-deserved draw for both sides. Meanwhile, The Lions have beaten Hertha Berlin, 3:2, in the UEFA Europa League Round 5 last Thursday, and they need to stay undefeated in the last round against Zorya to secure the second spot of the Group J table.

Athletic Bilbao is playing pretty poorly in the Spanish La Liga, and after the first twelve rounds they are laying at the 15th spot of the table with 12 points, a 12:16 goal difference, and a 3-3-6 record. At home, they have recorded two wins, two draws, and two losses with a 5:5 goal difference, while on the road they have earned only four points with a 7:11 goal difference and a 1-1-4 record losing three matches in a row.

The experienced striker Aritz Aduriz is a team’s leading scorer with five goals in 12 appearances this season, while the attacking midfielder Raul Garcia bagged three goals in 12 matches so far. The wingers Iker Muniain and Inaki Williams are the best assist-makers with three dishes apiece, while the left-back Mikel Balenziaga added two assists to his name in eight apps this season. The 29-year old winger Markel Susaeta is still goalless in ten matches, making one assist in the process.

The manager Jose Angel Ziganda is still without his best player, as Iker Munian will be sidelined for at least four months with a cruciate ligament rupture. The midfielder Benat Etxebarria (knee injury), and the left-back Enric Saborit (wound) are both doubtful for the next match.

DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA vs. ATHLETIC BILBAO – Match Prediction

Both teams are struggling from the start of the season, so I expect to see a nervous match. Depor’s defense is one of the worst in the league, while their attack is pretty efficient. The Lions lost three consecutive games on the road, and they need to get something from this clash. Therefore, I’m backing both teams to score in this one.

MY PICK: Both Teams to Score YES (-120)

REAL SOCIEDAD vs. LAS PALMAS

3-Way: 1: Real Sociedad -189; X: +451 Draw; 2: Las Palmas +661 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -1.5: Real Sociedad +127; Las Palmas -130

Total +3: Over -132; Under +127

REAL SOCIEDAD

Real Sociedad secured the second spot of the UEFA Europa League Group L with a 1:0 victory over Rosenborg last Thursday, as Mikel Oyarzabal scored his eighth goal of the season in the dying minutes of the match. It was Sociedad’s sixth victory in the last ten games in all competitions, third this month in four matches. The team is playing very well and they were beaten just once in the previous ten encounters.

After the first twelve rounds of the Spanish La Liga Real Sociedad is sitting at the seventh spot of the table with 18 points, a 25:22 goal difference, and a 5-3-4 record. They have earned eight points on the home soil with a 14:12 goal difference and a 2-2-2 record, while on the road they have recorded three wins, one draw, and two defeats with an 11:10 goal difference. Real Sociedad possess the third-best attack in the Spanish La Liga, and sometimes it seems like they are scoring at will.

The 20-year old talented winger Mikel Oyarzabal is leading his team with six La Liga goals in nine appearances so far, while the Brazilian striker Willian Jose bagged five goals in 12 La Liga matches. The midfielder Asier Illarramendi and the winger Juanmi added three goals each thus far. The 21-year old right-back Alvaro Odriozola is the best assist-maker with four dishes in 12 matches this season.

The manager Eusebio is still without some important players, as Carlos Martinez (ruptured cruciate ligament), Diego Llorente (wound), and David Zurutuza (muscular problems) are all sidelined for the next match.

LAS PALMAS

La UD put on another awful performance in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga when they were beaten by Levante, 2:0, in front of the home fans. They had some good chances to take the lead, but after the first Levante’s goal their game completely falls apart. It was Las Palmas’ eighth defeat in a row in the Spanish La Liga, and they didn’t earn a point since September 17th when they’ve beaten Athletic Bilbao at home, 1:0. The manager Pako Ayestaran is still at the helm, but we’ll see for how long.

After the first twelve rounds of the La Liga, Las Palmas is at the bottom of the table with six points, a 2-0-10 record, and a terrible 8:30 goal difference. Their defense is the worst in the league, and they couldn’t keep the clean sheet for nine consecutive games in all competitions. They have an identical 1-0-5 record at home and on the road, showing some huge defects in their play.

The 30-year old striker Loic Remy is the team’s leading scorer with four goals in seven appearances, while his colleague Jonathan Calleri bagged two goals in 12 matches this season. The 28-year old attacking midfielder Jonathan Viera is the best assistant with three dishes in 11 appearances, also adding a goal to his name.

The manager Pako Ayestaran will have to shake things, or he’ll lose his job very soon. For the next match he will miss the midfielder Alen Halilovic (malleolar injury), and the winger Oussama Tannane (tear in abductor’s muscle).

REAL SOCIEDAD vs. LAS PALMAS – Match Prediction

The visitors are in a horrible form, and they will need a miracle to stay undefeated at Anoeta, while Real Sociedad is a true scoring machine this season. Both teams are fragile at the back, so I expect to see some goals in this one.

MY PICK: Over 3 Goals (-132)
