sports cruise

Want to hobnob with your favorite players? Hang out on a sports cruise and chat about your most memorable sports moments? It’s cruise season and there are many opportunities to take a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with legends from the sports world. We’ve talked about this before, but it’s worth mentioning again. Here are just a few of the cruises available this year. If your team isn’t listed here, go to their website and see if they offer one. They might be planning for next year’s cruise.

Legends of Pittsburgh Cruise: This sports cruise is coming up pretty quickly at the end of March/beginning of April and there’s no guarantee that they have spots left, but if you miss this one, try to get on the waiting list for the next one. This cruise has “Mean Joe” Greene, the Pittsburgh Steelers famous defensive tackle who was named to 10 Pro Bowls and won 4 Super Bowls. You might be able to do the Hokie Pokie with Steelers defensive tackle Chris Hoke, who made the dance famous on 2014 Steelers Cruise. There are also opportunities to dine with him.  Also joining these greats is Santonio Holmes, Brett Keisel, Arthur Moats and others. Packers Legends Cruise: You just might find me on this sports cruise with current and former Green Bay Packers legends. The trip sails March 10-15, 2018 on Caribbean Independence of the Seas and there will be over 20 Legends on their inaugural fan cruise vacation through the Caribbean. You will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Puerto Costa Maya and Cozumel. Just imagine traveling with former quarterback Lynn Dickey, running back Gary Ellerson, cornerback Doug Evans, running back Ahman Green, running back Travis Jervey, wide receiver James Lofton and kicker Ryan Longwell, just to name a few. Cowboys Fans Cruise 3: Plan now for next year’s cruise if you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan. This cruise will be held from February 26 to March 3, 2018 and it leaves from the port of New Orleans, Louisiana.  The company behind the cruise is guaranteeing 4 to 6 current and former Dallas Cowboys players. They also added a private beach party in Cozumel with beach fun and games. It’s also a great time to hang out with other Dallas Cowboys fans. Taek pictures at poolside, and participate in fun and games. For more information, visit www.fans-zone.com

Hockey Fan Cruise 2017: I can’t tell if there will be NHL legends on this Hat Trick Cruise, but it sounds fun, nonetheless. This trip will leave from Galveston, Texas and the itinerary includes Costa Maya, Mexico, Roatan, Honduras and Cozumel Mexico. The cruise will leave on July 27th and return on July 30. Hang out with others who like hockey just like you do. For more information on this cruise, visit http://www.hockeyfancruise.com/.

World Cup Voyage: It’s all about the game of futbol and this sports cruise is soccer-themed. It’s the World Cup match at St. Petersburg that you want to see and this voyage puts you right in the action. In addition to watching the best soccer players in the world, you’ll be among the first spectators to visit Zenit Stadium. Designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, it is known as The Spaceship. The trip is sponsored by Cruise Line and sails on June 17, 2018 in the Baltics. The Cruise Line is Azamara Club Cruises. For more information on the World Cup Voyage, call 800.326.4971. The Orioles Hall of Famers sports cruise ended in January, but I’m telling you about it in case they do another one. This cruise sailed from January 14 to the 22nd and included Tippy Matinez and Ken Singleton. It was an eight night trip that departed from Fort Lauderdale and visited Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire. The Baltimore Baseball Cruise was through The Cruise Lady, Inc. and you can find out more information on future cruises by calling 410-342-0100.

Have you ever been on a sports cruise or would you ever want to take one? If you’ve already taken one, what was your favorite memory?
