St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights Odds

St. Louis (+150) is entering this one as the underdog to Vegas (-170) and the Over/Under (O/U) has been placed at 6 goals. The line for betting that total stands at -110 money on the over and -110 for the under.

Losing 6.7 units for moneyline gamblers, the Golden Knights are 8-11 straight up (SU) overall this year. That early-season winning percentage is a regression from the 51-31 record that the team managed during the 2017-18 season campaign. 12 of its 19 games have gone under the total, while seven have gone over and none have pushed. The team is 5-3 SU at home this season.

As a collective unit, Vegas has been penalized just 3.3 times per game overall this season, 3.4 per game over its last five outings total, and 3.2 per game over its last five at home. The team’s had to defend opponent power plays for just 8.4 minutes per game over its last 10 matchups, in total.

Averaging 22.5 saves per game with a .902 save percentage, Marc-Andre Fleury (8-8-1) has been the best option in goal for the Golden Knights this year. If the Knights choose to rest him, however, the team could go with the winless Malcolm Subban (0-4-4 record, .885 save percentage, 3.17 goals against average).

The Knights will continue looking for offensive production out of Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson. Marchessault (15 points) has tallied eight goals and seven assists and has recorded two or more points four times this year. Karlsson has four goals and 10 assists to his name and has notched at least one point in nine contests.

On the other bench, St. Louis is 6-10 straight up (SU) and has lost 5.8 units for bettors taking the moneyline this year. Eight of its matches have gone over the total, while seven have gone under the total and just one has pushed. St. Louis’ 1-4 SU as the visiting team this season.

St. Louis’ skaters have been penalized 3.9 times per game this season, 4.0 per game over their past five contests total, and 4.0 per game over their last five road outings. The team’s been forced to defend opponent power plays just 8.7 minutes per game over their last 10 outings.

Jake Allen (.883 save percentage and 3.73 goals against average) has been the main option in goal for St. Louis. Allen is averaging 26.4 saves per game and has four wins, eight losses, and three OT losses to his credit.

Ryan O’Reilly (eight goals, 13 assists) has been one of the top playmaking threats for the visiting Blues.
