In May 2018, the Supreme Court struck down a decades-old PASPA legislation, allowing each state the freedom to legalize and regulate sports betting. New Jersey fought for years to strike down the sports betting ban, and states are beginning to hop on the sports betting bandwagon, bringing extra revenue into the state.
It’s expected that there will be several states legalizing sports betting in 2019, waiting on changes in their government structures and to strike deals with local tribes who run and regulate many of the casinos that would likely be homes to the new sportsbooks.
So who has legalized sports betting thus far?
