Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry addressed several key topics regarding his current health status, team dynamics following the NBA trade deadline, and the impact of other league developments during a media availability session on Tuesday.

Curry provided an update on his recovery from a right knee injury sustained last week. He described the issue as relatively minor, saying that he expects to return to full strength after a brief period of rest and rehabilitation. The team medical staff has not released an official timetable for his return, but Curry emphasized that the injury is not expected to have long-term implications.

On the topic of roster moves, Curry commented on the team’s decision to trade for Kristaps Porzingis as part of a midseason strategy to bolster their frontcourt. “Kristaps brings a unique skill set that adds a new dimension to our offense and stretches the floor,” Curry said. “We’re excited to integrate him into our system and see how he impacts the game on both ends.”

The Warriors made the trade in an effort to solidify their position in the playoff race and add size and shooting to their rotation. Curry noted that integrating new players requires adjustment but expressed confidence in the coaching staff and team chemistry to make the transition smooth.

Curry also reflected on the recent injury to Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler, calling it an unfortunate setback for both Butler and the league as a whole. “Jimmy is a competitor, and any time a player of that caliber goes down, it’s tough,” Curry said. “You want the best players on the floor. I wish him a quick recovery.”

As for the Warriors’ outlook going forward, Curry remained optimistic. He acknowledged the challenges the team has faced this season but reiterated the group’s focus on executing each game and building momentum heading into the postseason. “We’ve been in tough spots before,” he said. “It’s all about finding our rhythm and peaking at the right time.”

The Warriors continue their road trip this week as they aim to navigate the remaining regular season games with a healthy roster and a reinforced lineup.
