In the Hatters’ last outing, they defeated the Kennesaw State Owls, 92-75. The Hatters had a superb turnover percentage of 8.6 (better than their season average of 16.0) and had an effective field goal percentage of 0.604 (above their season average of 0.450). Stetson received a boost from Abayomi Iyiola, who had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Flames had no trouble getting past the NJIT Highlanders in their last game, 77-57. The Flames knocked down 10 of their 11 free throws (90.9 percent) and held the Highlanders to an offensive rebounding percentage of 14.3 (below their season average of 23.2). With 16 points and 10 rebounds, Liberty’s Scottie James had a good game.

This will be the second game of the season between these two squads. In the first, James scored a game-high 15 points and the Flames defeated the Hatters 71-53. He also had five rebounds. The Flames had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (36.0 vs. 22.6) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.630 vs. 0.461).

The productive offense of Liberty will clash against the porous defense of Stetson. The Flames currently rank 16th in offensive efficiency, while the Hatters are 340th in defensive efficiency. The Flames should have the edge on that side of the ball.
