Strasburg has been placed on the injured list again

Stephen Strasburg has been placed on the disabled list for the second time in less than a week after returning from a year-long absence. Strasburg, who was supposed to start on Tuesday, had been in pain following his bullpen session on Saturday, and he had an MRI on Monday. Manager Dave Martinez says he will have more information regarding Strasburg on Tuesday after the Nationals’ 9-5 defeat to the Braves. Strasburg has been wounded several times in the last two years, necessitating surgery on each occasion.

On Thursday, the 33-year-old right-hander faced the Marlins and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks. Strasburg informed Martinez that he felt excellent after his season start, save from leg weariness.

Strasburg, on the other hand, told the team on Sunday that “he didn’t feel right.” Martinez remarked, “We were hoping that was simply a passing fad.” “No, it didn’t,” says the narrator. We don’t know if this is the same problem as before, but we’ll find out after we have the MRI and the physicians get a chance to look at it. But it’s a bummer since he was so looking forward to seeing you again. But let’s hope it’s only a temporary setback.”
