According to the report, the women’s world transfer record was broken four times in 2025, three times by WSL clubs: Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave to Chelsea in January, Olivia Smith from Liverpool to Arsenal in the summer, and Grace Geyoro from PSG to London City Lionesses. The WSL summer window opens June 18, with the rest of Europe opening July 1.

Shekiera Martinez moved on June 18 for an undisclosed fee, with West Ham graded C and Tottenham A+. The report says Martinez scored 10 goals after signing in January 2025 and finished third in the Golden Boot race despite playing only 12 games. Tottenham signed her after Manchester City had been linked, and she is expected to rotate with Cathinka Tandberg following Bethany England’s departure.

Katie McCabe left Arsenal on a free and is graded C- for Arsenal and A for Chelsea. The report describes McCabe as a veteran defender who has played almost every position, served the club for more than a decade and been part of the leadership group. Arsenal reportedly tried to persuade her to stay in the final weeks of her contract, while Chelsea offered a long-term deal to the 30-year-old.

Beth Mead also left Arsenal on a free, receiving a B for Arsenal and a B+ for Manchester City. The report notes Mead nearly joined London City last season and has been one of Arsenal’s leading scorers and chance creators for almost a decade. She set up the Champions League winning goal for Stina Blackstenius, and Manchester City provided a longer-term deal, joining her with partner Vivianne Miedema at the newly crowned champions.

On July 1, Elisa Senss moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid for €200,000. The transfer is graded B- for Frankfurt and A- for Real Madrid. The report calls Senss a key member of a Frankfurt side that finished third behind Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, noting she played 45 of 48 league games across the last two seasons and is 28. Senss is described as capable deeper in midfield with good reading of the game and strength in duels, though she is not known for goal-scoring and often requires a partner when playing as a lone pivot.
