According to ESPN, since joining Buriram United as an 18-year-old in 2017, Supachai Jaided has developed into a leading figure in Thai and Southeast Asian football, playing a part in Buriram’s last seven Thai League 1 title wins and collecting six major domestic cups.
ESPN reports Supachai won back-to-back Thai League 1 top scorer awards from 2022 to 2024, a rare achievement for a local player in a competition often led by imports. He has drawn comparisons with former teammate Diogo; the last local to share or top the scoring charts included Teerasil Dangda (shared in 2012) and Anon Sangsanoi, who last finished outright in 2009, according to ESPN.
The 27-year-old sustained a knee injury on international duty in Thailand’s 3-2 friendly win over Singapore last November and was sidelined for three months, restricting him to 20 league appearances this season — his fewest since 2019. He returned in February as Buriram wrapped up the league title; the club will face PT Prachuap in the FA Cup final but missed a domestic treble after a League Cup semifinal exit, ESPN reported.
Buriram are also defending their ASEAN Club Championship crown and carry a 1-0 first-leg lead over Selangor into the return match at the Chang Arena. Supachai started both legs of the semifinal against Johor Darul Ta’zim and the first meeting with Selangor; he did not score in those three games and has four goals from 22 appearances since his February comeback. ESPN described him as a creative force whose intelligent movement and deceptive strength trouble opposing defenses.
Supachai watched teammates Suphanat Mueanta and Supachok Sarachat move to Belgium and Japan, respectively, and “the dream has not been given up on,” according to ESPN. He told ESPN the team “faced some difficulties” early in the season but had improved, said the club wants to defend the Shopee Cup, and added that he “tries to improve myself every day” as he works to help secure the club’s future success.
