Survivor Recap — Coffee and Pastries, but Any Idols?

Survivor

This week on Survivor’s Ghost Island — 16 are left. Who will be voted out tonight?

It’s night 12 at Malolo’s campground and Bradley says that tribal council was a ‘massive wakeup call’ for him, because the original Naviti stuck together and got Brandon out, not him. Bradley also says that he read Michael wrong and that he’s a huge threat. Bradley also doesn’t know that Michael’s only 18 years old. Tribal didn’t go the way that Michael hoped and it was, he calls it, ‘my first hard fall.’ Tribal proved to him that he has his work cut out for him.

Challenge time — come on in guys!

Reward challenge is a sandbag challenge that they have to use to throw at flags. They are playing for coffee and pastries. Cinnamon buns! Michael and Bradley work at moving the sandbags for Malolo while Domenick and James are doing it for Naviti. Malolo pulls their level first and releases the sandbags. Seconds later, Naviti finds their lever. Sandbags are flying everywhere as teammates are aiming for the flags. Sebastian is throwing for Malolo and Chris is throwing for Naviti and pops the first flag. Sebastian isn’t’ even close to the targets. Chris pops the second flag already. Chris hits the third target and the challenge is over. “I want those pastries!” yells Chris in a blowout competition.

Who does Naviti send to Ghost Island? They choose to use rocks and Stephanie gets the white rock and heads out to Ghost Island. Of course, Chris is bragging his ass off during the diary.

It’s Day 13 at Ghost Island and Stephanie is talking about how this is terrible timing because she’s on the bottom of her group. She smashes the urn, but no game today. She was very disappointed and she talks about how she was disappointed in life, left the Mormon religion and got divorced all in six months. That really does show her true character. She’s a single mother too.

It’s Day 13 at Naviti and they are enjoying their pastries and James is talking about how having Chris on his side is a good thing. More conversation with Donathan and he is joined by Laurel  — the coffee and the pastries actually got Donathan crying because it’s a reminder of his grandmother at home. Chris saw that he was upset and actually used it as an opportunity to talk to him. He talks about helping his mother when he was a teenager. His mother is in an assisted living facility and is trying to bond with Donathan. Donathan is happy about the bonds he has with both Laurel and Chris who are on opposite sides right now. Who will Donathan choose to play the game with?

Immunity challenge time! Come on in guys!

Stephanie returns from Ghost Island. They will race out across a floating bridge, crank back a teammate on a board and solve a puzzle. Wendell for Naviti and Chelsea for Malolo race out with the body board. The tribe will pull you back once they pick up a bag. Wendell is first to make the way back. Chelsea returns seconds later. Desiree goes out for Malolo and Libby heads out for Naviti but she’s very shaky on the bridge. It’s too close to call and Desiree does an amazing job of hanging on while she’s under water. Neck and neck, Wendell heads back out for Naviti and Chelsea heads back out for Malolo. He grabs the third bag, while Chelsea falls into the water for Malolo. Chelsea gets back up, while Wendell gets on the board and gets pulled in. Naviti starts working on their puzzle while Chelsea gets pulled back and off the board. she regroups and tries to make up time while Naviti is still struggling with opening their lock.

Domenick and James have solved the lock and open their puzzle for Naviti. Bradley and Kellyn are working on their puzzle for Malolo. Naviti solves the puzzle first! So Naviti had a clean sweep this week in both immunity and reward.

Malolo faces tribal council. Michael says that he believes he, Stephanie or Jenna will be one of the ones gone. Never say never in this game! Kellyn is sad and feels like she let her tribe down, but believes that unless one of them pulls something out of their bag like last week, one of them is going home.

Back at the Malolo tribe, Michael feels backed into a corner. Jenna is thinking strategy and is trying to be more social. She is shown “flirting” with Sebastian and offers to braid Sebastian’s hair. Sebastian likes the flirting and wants to keep her around. The conversation seems to be to vote Stephanie out of the game now. Stephanie is talking to Bradley — which is amazing because again she’s talking to him like he’s the group leader. Why not talk to the other group members and try to get them to turn on him? Michael falls apart a little during private camera time about how bad he wants this. So does Stephanie. Now, thinking that Stephanie might have something from Ghost Island, the tribe is thinking that Michael is the better vote. To try and see if Stephanie is withholding something, Desiree actually rifles through Stephanie’s bag!

I feel the same way. NOT COOL!

Stephanie talks about what she missed while in Ghost Island, while Jenna talks about how one sentence can sway a

Survivor

vote from one person to another. Michael once again tries to talk his way out of being voted out, putting in words that he’s a strong person who’s needed on the team. Lots of discussion going on about what Survivor means to them, but it all comes down to votes.

The fifth person voted out of Survivor, 5 votes to 1, is Stephanie.

Until next week!
