UFC 208 Main Card Odds For Saturday PPV

UFC 208 Main Card Odds For Saturday PPV – The UFC is in Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center this Saturday night for their UFC 208 pay-per-view. The card features eleven fights in all, with four features reserved for the PPV portion of the card. The main event is sees the inauguration of a new weight class among the women’s divisions as Holly Holm faces Germaine De Randamie for the newly minted 145 pound featherweight championship.

Holly Holm is trying to snap a two fight losing streak in the UFC, but she is the fighter that dethroned Ronda Rousey the first time. Additionally her boxing Pedigree, where she won over 30 legitimate matches and held multiple world titles still make her a potential force in the UFC, though at 35 years old she is definitely on the “B” side of her career. In de Randamie, who is 6-3 fighting out of Holland, she is facing a gritty fighter who comes with an extensive kickboxing background. The fight itself has the makings of a bruising stand-up war as both woman thrive in the striking aspects of MMA.

It should be noted that UFC President offered the match to Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, who for years has been looking for fair treatment by he UFC who she claimed were trying to force her to make 135 pounds. Much to the surprise of the MMA world, Justino apparently turned down the fight with Holm, leading to the match-up with de Randamie.

The co-feature spot in Brooklyn sees former middleweight champion and perhaps the greatest MMA fighter of all-time return to the ring as Anderson Silva faces Derek Brunson. Silva is now 40 years old, and though he is one of the craftiest fighters out there, there is no doubt that some of his speed and precision has faded. That could mean that a stud athlete like Brunson, who is eight years younger, could have a chance at catching the elusive former champion. Brunson had a five fight UFC winning streak snapped in his last fight which seemed to halt his progress, but he must know that a win over Silva, even a faded version of Silva, would make up for lost time in a hurry.

Sturdy middleweight veteran Tim Boetsch is looking to extend his current two fight winning streak but he faces a tall order taking on Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Souza is 6-1 in the UFC with his lone loss coming at the hands of Yoel Romero. Boetsch was 2-6 in his previous eight fights before his recent resurgence but he is facing one of the division’s fiercest competitors in “Jacare.” Souza was on the cusp of a title shot before falling to the Cuban Romero, but you can be sure that he has a title run in mind and that he feels that Tim Boetsch is just standing in his way.
