WSOF 33 Odds For Friday’s Fights

WSOF 33 Odds – The World Series Of Fighting 33 rolls into the Kansas City Memorial Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri  as they land with a big 13 fight MMA card that sees the six featured fights air on the NBC Sports Network this Friday, October 7th. The sports books have just released lines on the features, and you can check your local listings for start times.

Lightweight Justin Gaethje (16-0) is looking to extend his run with the WSOF’s lightweight belt as he defends against Ozzy Dugulubgov (8-2). Dugulubgov has been with the WSOF since show #2 and he is a strong 5-1 with the promotional outfit. Gaethje also made his debut back at WSOF#2 and he has gone 9-0 with the group, emerging as their top fighter and company poster boy.

Light Heavyweight champion David Branch may be the most underrated fighter on the WSOF roster, despite his dominance. At 18-3 overall, he has gone 8-0 in the WSOF and won titles as a middleweight and a light heavyweight. Here he faces Brazilian veteran Vinny Magalhaes (14-7), who has quietly put together a four fight winnig streak since he was released by the UFC.

Former UFC fighter Jason High (20-5) is looking to build on his two fight WSOF winning streak against Joao Zeferino (20-8), who is heading in a different direction after having lost his last two WSOF fights.

More lightweight action sees a pair of veterans lock horns as Luis “Buscape” Firmino (19-6) takes on Brian Foster (26-9). Firmino has won four in a row, but he has been inconsistent throughout his whole career in terms of following a schedule. Foster followed up a nice tournament at lightweight with a loss in less than two minutes to Gaethje with the title on the line. Foster needs a win to avoid a two fight losing streak and keep Gaethje on his radar. Win or lose, Foster has to feel a rematch with Gaethje would let him show more than he did the first time. Despite the motivation, Foster will enter the fight with the aggressive “Buscape” a slight betting underdog.

The card sees some talent filling in from among a list of UFC outcasts as both Shawn Jordan and John Howard are also on the card. The Heavyweight Jordan takes on Ashley Gooch in his first fight since being released by the UFC. Gooch is also making his promotional debut, but his experience is not on the UFC level. However, the 41 year old enters the fight on an eight fight winning streak that has seen him finish all eight bouts before the distance.

Howard left the UFC after a win in his last fight, and at 24-12 he is the most experienced foe Abubakar Nurmagomedov (12-1) has ever faced.
