Talk ‘n’ Shoot MMA Podcast: Looking Deeper Into The Jon Jones Saga

The suspension of UFC lightweight Jon Jones and his title stripping marks a sad era for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.

Jon Jones is facing felony charges around a car accident that led to injuries to a woman in New Mexico, where he fled the scene.  This comes after a positive test for cocaine last December and bizarre behavior around the build-up to the Daniel Cormier bout, which included instigating a brawl at an open media event.

Through it all, Jones has not appeared to face the music.  It has been almost a week since Jones’ world fell apart and he still has not been heard from with any type of statement.  Reebok and several other high profile sponsors have cut ties to Jones as well, leaving his future very much in question.  With his talent level and drawing power, Jones will likely face none to minimal jail time for his latest offense, which could leave open a return for later this year.

In this latest podcast, guests Mike Davis and Dave Strasser join me to go over what we know and what we don’t know about the problems engulfing former Jones.  Davis, a long-time promoter based out of Chicago brings his usual, clinical perspective. Bringing more unique insight is Strasser, a UFC veteran who has long ran his own gym and prepared many fighters for the UFC.  Check out the latest Talk ‘n’ Shoot MMA Podcast right here.
