The conversation starts with the January 16th event scheduled for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  Heavyweight boxing is front and center as two world titles will be on the line.  The main event features WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder‘s third title defense as he faces Poland’s Artur Szpilka.  Wilder has now held the WBC belt for a year and Szpilka represents his toughest test to date.   The card also features Vyascheslav Glazkov facing Charles Martin for the vacant IBF World Heavyweight title.

Also discussed at length was the comeback of England’s David Haye (26-2) as he returns on January 16th to the O2 Arena in London to face Mark de Mori (30-1-2).  Haye, known as the “Hayemaker” has not fought in more than three years, and he spent most of the last three years enjoying his retirement.   Nevertheless, he still has a chance to be relevant in a changing heavyweight landscape.

Also entering the discussion is Top Rank’s heavyweight prospect Andy Ruiz Jr, who is scheduled to face David Batchelder on the 16th at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas.  at one point in his career, Ruiz Jr was considered ne of the top prospects in the Heavyweight division.  SOme time inactive has seen him fall off the radar in the Heavywight division, and he has been trying to stay active as he searches for a big opportunity.

Prospects Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker are also disxussed in this nearly hour long Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast focused on Heavyweight boxing.  Check it out.
