Tampa Bay, Calgary and Boston Installed as Stanley Cup Favorites

The Tampa Bay Lightning are overwhelming favorites to win the Stanley Cup. After tying the record for wins in a season with 62, the Lightning have been installed as a +175 favorite to win it all per offshore sportsbook BetDSI. Calgary and Boston are the only other teams with odds of less than 10-1, so there is plenty of value if you are looking to take a chance on an underdog to win it all. Everyone knows about Alex Ovechkin, Nikita Kucherov, and Johnny Gaudreau, but playoff series are where no-name players can become legends. Sports Illustrated highlights one player on each team to watch.

We are still awaiting word on the severity of Connor McDavid’s leg injury, but the superstar has already been ruled out of the IIHF World Championship next month. McDavid finished the season as the leading point scorer in the Western Conference, and Team Canada will certainly miss him.
