Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Ottawa Senators Odds

Tampa Bay is 9-4 straight up (SU) and has earned 1.3 units for moneyline bettors this season. Through 13 regular season matches, seven of its games have gone under the total, while five have gone over and none have pushed. This 2018-19 Lightning team is 4-2 SU on the road.

The Lightning have found the net on 26.1 percent of their power play chances thus far. That mark hasn’t moved a lot from last year, when they were ranked fourth in the NHL by converting on 24.8 percent of their extra-man chances. Their penalty kill has gotten stronger year-over-year, as they’ve gone from successfully defending 75.9 percent of all opponent power plays (ranked 28th overall last year) to 93.9 percent this year..

Averaging 28.6 saves per game with a .935 save percentage, Andrei Vasilevskiy (7-3-1) has been the best option in goal for Tampa Bay this year. Vasilevskiy played last night, however, so head coach Jon Cooper may decide to rest him and go with Louis Domingue instead (2-1 record, .887 save percentage, 4.00 goals against average).

Ottawa is 5-8 straight up (SU) and has earned moneyline bettors 0.4 units this year. Eight of its contests have gone over the total, while two have gone under and two have pushed. It’s 4-3 SU as the home team this season.

The Senators have converted on just 24.4 percent of their power play chances this year, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 30th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 68.9 percent of all opponent power plays.

Craig Anderson has denied 32.6 shots per game as the primary selection in goal for the Senators. Anderson has five wins, seven losses, and two overtime losses and has registered a mediocre 3.54 goals against average and a subpar .909 save percentage this season.
