Tatis Jr., Yelich both injured, 20 Ks for White Sox and More

It was a bad day for injuries in Major League Baseball. Young Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. hurt himself doing the splits. Brewers megastar Christian Yelich left Milwaukee’s game with the Mets (as did Robinson Cano for New York). And the Yankees have a couple more injuries even as they keep winning. In happier news, Cody Bellinger is raking, and the White Sox struck out 20(!!) batters in one game Sunday.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been getting all the hype, but Fernando Tatis Jr. has been up and impressing since Opening Day. So it’s a real shame that he had to leave the Padres’ game with the Nationals on Sunday after trying to keep his foot on the bag on this strange play.

On the contrary, it was hard to see exactly when and how Christian Yelich hurt himself in the Brewers’ game against the Mets. The team is calling it a lower back injury.

Maybe some of the Tigers’ batters Sunday might should have faked an injury to get away from Reynaldo Lopez and the White Sox pitching staff.

Remember the other day when Christian Yelich tied a Major League record with 14 home runs before the end of April? He’s got company.

Finally, returning to the theme. Two more injuries for the Yankees — but also three more victories.
