Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The Tulane Green Wave (4-16, 0-8 AAC) will try to snap their 10-game losing streak when they meet the Temple Owls (15-6, 5-3 AAC) at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. The game will air on ESPN 3 at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 2, 2019.

Temple Owls vs. Tulane Green Wave Betting Prediction

In the Owls’ last matchup, they were defeated by the No. 13 Houston Cougars, 73-66. Getting to the charity stripe was one of Houston’s largest strengths. They had 36 free throw attempts, while Temple had just 14. Quinton Rose was the top scorer from either team with 26 points on 8-for-22 shooting.

The Green Wave lost a tough one against the East Carolina Pirates in their last outing, 66-65. East Carolina’s 9.0 turnover percentage was the team’s largest strength over Tulane, who had a rate of 20.5. The Pirates’ mark was better than their season average of 18.6, while the Green Wave’s was above the 17.0 mark opponents have averaged against East Carolina this season. With 17 points on 6-for-15 shooting, Caleb Daniels was the top scorer from either team.

This has potential to be a sloppy game for the offense of Tulane. Tulane ranks 317th in the country in ball protection (turnover percentage of 21.9 percent), while the disruptive defense of Temple forces the 82nd-most turnovers in the nation (21.2 percent).

After the Owls won two out of three contests against the Green Wave last season, these teams will clash for the first time this year. In the most recent contest, Temple won 82-77. The Owls made 23 of their 29 free throws (79.3 percent) and had a much better turnover percentage (8.2 vs. 13.8).
