Texas Rangers – Kansas City Royals Preview – 07.22.2016

Danny Duffy (5-1, 3.27 ERA) and the Kansas City Royals (47-47) meet Yu Darvish (2-1, 3.15 ERA) and the Texas Rangers (55-41) in the first of a three-game series at Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium. The game gets underway at 8:15 p.m. ET on Friday, Jul. 22 and will air on FSKC and FSSW.

In his most recent outing, Duffy pitched 6.1 innings, allowing four runs, striking out seven and walking one in an 8-4 victory over the Tigers. The Rangers were unsuccessful against the Cubs 3-1 the last time Darvish pitched. He went 4.1 innings, giving up two runs, striking out nine and walking four. Ian Desmond (.319, 69 Rs, 18 HRs, 58 RBIs, 16 SBs) has been doing well offensively for the Rangers, going 3 for 5 Wednesday with two runs, one home run, and one RBI.

The Royals managed to give up seven walks in their last game. They’ll have to pick it up against the Rangers who are coming in with a 3-0 record against opponents who give up that many walks or more.
