The Best 3 Destinations For Carlos Tevez’s Fantasy Value

Tevez could be on the move this summer.

Carlos Tevez has played some of the best football of his career with Juventus this season while leading them to the top spot in the Serie A table with a league-leading 18 goals. He’s also helped guide them to a Champions League semi-final berth. The fact that Tevez has thrived this year has made him one of the hottest commodities on the market with the summer transfer window fast approaching. Since it’s more than likely that he will be moved, it makes sense to look at some possible suitors and how his fantasy value will be impacted by any potential transfer.

Here is a quick look at the top three destinations for Tevez in terms of the clubs that will have the most positive impact on his fantasy value.

Liverpool

The Reds are reportedly very interested in pairing James Milner with Jordan Henderson if they can complete a transfer with Manchester City, but regardless of whether or not they get that deal done, they should really consider adding Tevez up front. The loss of Luis Suarez really hurt the Liverpool attack as they have just 47 goals on the season. Although they are still in fifth place, the 47 goals are the fewest of any team in the top six.

While Liverpool appears to be concentrated on adding to the midfield area, the need for a pure finisher up front should be their main priority entering the summer transfer window. Tevez’ fantasy value could potentially get better at a Liverpool side that places such a strong focus on the attack and their ability to score goals in bunches so if there is one team Tevez’s fantasy value would benefit the most moving to it would have to be the Reds.

Paris Saint Germain

The Ligue 1 side had a reported interest in acquiring Tevez from Manchester City before they moved him to Juventus and if he is made available again, there is a good chance they will pursue him. PSG’s lack of offensive flare ultimately led to their elimination in the Champions League quarterfinals. Sure, they have 61 goals in French league play but that’s against much weaker competition. It was clear in the Champions League that once the going got tough, their offense just didn’t have it. They would have to at least consider the potency of pairing a pure finisher like Tevez next to Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front.

Tevez would likely thrive in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League once again and considering the other likely suitors, this could be one of the best moves for his fantasy value. Juventus is apparently interested in potentially acquiring PSG’s Edison Cavani in order to fill the hole left by Tevez – if he exitx – so that could help facilitate a move.

Boca Juniors

Regardless of his fantasy value, the Argentine side has reportedly made a huge push to acquire Tevez from Juventus. His celebratory “chicken dance” after scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Lazio that all but secured their position as Serie A champions has added fuel to the fire. There have been reports that the Argentine striker would quit before the final year of his contract with Juventus is up in order to facilitate a move but he has never actually said that out loud. It’s impossible to blindly buy in to those types of rumors but there does appear to be smoke and fire here. He continues to reiterate that his plan is to return to Boca Juniors after his three-year contract is up but many feel that if that’s the destination that makes him happy, he’ll leave early.

Tevez would likely thrive with a move to Boca Juniors as a premier goal scorer but unless it was a fantasy league that focused solely on the Argentine league than his fantasy value would evaporate.
