Best Starting Five For Daily NBA Fantasy Leagues Wednesday

Aldridge should be a good start in an all-important matchup tonight.

The NBA returns with a full schedule on Wednesday as 24 teams will be in action. While there are plenty of options to choose from in daily fantasy leagues, narrowing down the best starting five could be a little more difficult at this point in the year the playoffs looming. Some teams are resting, some teams have quit and some teams still have some motivation. Keep all of those in mind as you’re setting your roster on Wednesday.

PG – Reggie Jackson (Detroit Pistons) @ Charlotte Hornets

It took a while for the former Oklahoma City Thunder first round pick to find his rhythm in Detroit but now that he has settled, in his numbers are off the charts. Jackson has scored 26 or more points in each of his last three games and his stat line of 31 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three three-point shots in Sunday’s loss to the Miami Heat was another example of him getting every opportunity with the Pistons. Jackson has transformed himself in to a poor man’s Russell Westbrook over the past couple of weeks and that makes him a top choice for Wednesday and on top of that an excellent value play as well.

SG – C.J. Miles (Indiana Pacers) @ Boston Celtics

Another undervalued player that has really stepped up over the past seven days is Miles, who has averaged 27 points over his last two games with Indiana. Miles has never been a superstar but the Pacers are relying heavily on his offensive production right now and he has the potential to put up another dominant performance on Wednesday. He’ll be facing a Boston Celtics team that ranks 24th in the NBA in points per game allowed this season. He’s been pretty steady over his last 10 games, chipping in 14.7 points per game, 2.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.6 steals. He’s a fairly under-the-radar source of points.

SF – Andrew Wiggins (Minnesota Timberwolves) vs. Toronto Raptors

The No. 1 pick from the 2014 NBA draft is the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year honours and while he was held to just 15 points and three rebounds in his first game against the team he cheered for growing up in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Wiggins should feel better about the chance to play them at home. He’s been more effective at home this season, averaging16.9 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals while shooting a better field goal percentage in front of the friendly crowd opposed to on the road. Factor in that he has averaged 23.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3 assists per game over the last week and should come through with a solid performance against Toronto.

PF – LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers) vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Aldridge is back at full strength and while he didn’t have a great performance in his last game against the Phoenix Suns, he should bounce back with better numbers against a Clippers team he will have to get up for. March has been a relatively strong month for Aldridge after he played just eight games in February. Over his last nine outings, you’re looking at a man who can deliver 24.9 points per game, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.7 blocks while doing a relatively good job for your field goal numbers.

C- Anthony Davis (New Orleans Pelicans) @ Los Angeles Lakers

The extra money saved on key value players like Jackson and Miles will pay off substantially when you plug the best fantasy center in to your starting slot for a dream matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis has averaged 25.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2 steals and 3.7 blocks per game over the last seven days and if that stat line isn’t impressive enough on its own, there is a good chance he could exceed those averages against a lowly Lakers team. The 104.7 points per game that they’ve allowed this season is the third-worst number in the NBA.
