The Gronkcast: Inside the NFL Episode 14

It’s that time of the week once again to settle in, pour something good into your Ice Shaker and enjoy a nice afternoon with the Gronkowski Brothers, Chris and Glenn, as they recap Week 9 of the NFL season and make their picks for Week 10. The Gronks provide one-of-a kind analysis and stories from behind the NFL curtain and it’s all exclusive to GetMoreSports.

Glenn and Chris waste no time in diving into the Cleveland Browns coaching situation. A couple of weeks ago Browns’ owner Jimmy Haslem sent both head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley sliding down the garbage shoot. Since then defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been named interim head coach and, needless to say, that hasn’t resulted in a lot of, or, you know, any victories. But don’t feel sorry for Gregg Williams. He is, apparently, inundated with NFL head coaching offers non-stop. At this point they just automatically go into his spam folder.

Chris touches on a guy that seemingly has already tossed his flat cap into the ring. I won’t spoil it, but Chris is all for this former NFL head coach that seems eager to get hold of a moribund Browns franchise. Glenn makes the point that, whoever Cleveland hires will fall into a good situation.

“Whoever Cleveland hires has to be an offensive mind,” Glenn said. “I think Cleveland right now is stout on defense. They’ve been drafting first round picks the last couple of years. They’re getting to the quarterback and that’s what’s going to help them win games. They have the defense, they have the personnel they need, and they have the personnel on offense. They need a coach to get in there that knows how to coach Baker Mayfield and put him in position that helps them win games. They haven’t done that yet.”

After that, each Gronk picks their three favorite teams in the AFC and NFC to potentially win Super Bowl LIII. Chris delivers his choices first for the AFC, and I can’t say I agree with his No. 3 choice. The first two, I think, all of us would give nodding approval.

Glenn chimes in with his NFC picks and immediately breaks the bracket with his No. 3 pick. Again, this is where he and I bump heads, but it’s definitely a potential playoff team. The top two picks are obvious if you’ve even glanced at the football standings this season.

Chris and Glenn discuss Dez Bryant’s signing with the Saints. Unfortunately, right after this podcast was recorded, Bryant may have torn his Achilles tendon.

The Gronks recap their Bulletproof Picks from Week 9, including brother Gordon’s pick that got him banned from the show.

Before the show wraps up, Chris and Glenn deliver their Bulletproof picks for Week 10 and their Capper’s Cup selections.
