The final day of practices at the 2026 Senior Bowl offered scouts another opportunity to evaluate potential NFL prospects ahead of April’s draft. While the entire week provided a comprehensive look at the skill sets of many players, the closing session helped several individuals make strong final impressions, particularly at the quarterback position.

Among those generating attention was Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer. Throughout the week’s practices, Altmyer showed solid decision-making and consistent accuracy, with Thursday’s session reinforcing those traits. His composure in the pocket and ability to deliver precise throws under pressure left a positive impression on scouts, potentially elevating his draft stock.

Other quarterbacks also drew attention. While the competitions remained tight, Altmyer’s command of the offense and field awareness helped distinguish him among a talented group. Evaluators noted his improved footwork and timing on intermediate routes, a key requirement at the next level.

Beyond the quarterbacks, several other prospects stood out. Edge rushers showcased their quickness and agility in pass-rushing drills, while offensive linemen were closely evaluated for their mobility and hand placement. Defensive backs had the opportunity to display their coverage skills in one-on-one matchups, with a few cornerbacks turning heads with their anticipation and ball skills.

Coaches and scouts also paid special attention to position versatility. Linebackers who demonstrated the ability to drop into coverage and run laterally in zone schemes were highly valued, as defensive adaptability remains a priority for many NFL teams.

While the game itself still lies ahead, practice sessions often carry significant weight for talent evaluators. The controlled environment allows each player to compete against similarly high-level talent while receiving instruction from NFL coaching staffs.

As teams finalize their early draft boards, performances from Mobile, Alabama, continue to influence evaluations. The 2026 Senior Bowl, like in past years, has once again served as a crucial step for players looking to transition from college to the professional level.
