Top Posts On Aaron Rodgers, Darren Woodson, and More

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Plenty of NFL media members have commented on Aaron Rodgers’ surprise appearance in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones last night. It’s not entirely clear which character Rodgers was just yet, and there are a few different ideas being bantered around among the show’s diehards. This take from Adam Schefter is simply gold though.

After 14 years with ESPN, Darren Woodson is leaving the network in order to concentrate on his real estate business. The former All-Pro safety has been one of the better former athletes that ESPN has had in its programming over the years, and unlike another former Cowboy who recently left the network, he will be missed.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Kyle Rudolph won’t be a part of the Minnesota Vikings next season. Rudolph and the team have broken off talks of a contract extension, and that’s typically a sign that a player is soon to be dealt. The tight end out of Notre Dame is entering his ninth season in the NFL, and he is a two-time Pro Bowler. There are sure to be more than a few teams interested in his services.

Numerous teams and individuals around the league are mourning the loss of former Kansas City head coach and long-time NFL assistant Gunther Cunningham. Cunningham spent 23 years working as an assistant coach in the league, and he was the head coach of the Chiefs during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Finally, it looks like Doug Baldwin is calling it a career. The Seattle Seahawks receiver began hinting at retirement a couple weeks ago, and it became more clear that Baldwin was considering this option after the team cut him. He has not officially filed his retirement paperwork with the NFL, but his social media indicates that he is ready to move on from the league.
