Top Posts on Jason Garrett, Chris Long, and More

We have seen a lot of different memes floating around after Brook Lopez’s demonstrative celebration during Milwaukee’s Game 1 win in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Toronto Raptors, but this one takes the cake. Jason Garrett has been dubbed the clapper after repeatedly clapping after bad plays or disappointing results, and it’s always fun to take a jab at the Dallas Cowboys.

Chris Long has decided to step away from the NFL after an 11-year career in the league, and the outpouring of support has been tremendous. Long is known as one of the best human beings in the league, and last year’s Walter Payton Man of the Year  has received glowing praise since his announcement. It’s unclear what Long will do after the NFL, but he will have plenty of options and is likely to continue his activism.

Over at SI, Conor Orr’s list of new head coaches with the toughest rebuilds ahead of them has garnered some buzz. It’s no surprise to see Kliff Kingsbury atop the list given that he is taking over the worst team in the league, and he is a newcomer to the NFL coaching ranks. Kingsbury had never even been an NFL assistant, and there are a lot of skeptics after he was fired by Texas Tech at the end of the 2018 season. Orr says that Bruce Arians will have the easiest job as there is already a good amount of talent in place in Tampa.

We’ll find out which team will be featured on Hard Knocks this season in the coming weeks, but it is looking increasingly likely that the Washington Redskins will be the franchise featured for the first time. They are the favorite according to the betting websites, and Dan Snyder may be comfortable putting a spotlight on his team now that he has a potential franchise quarterback in Dwayne Haskins.
