Top posts on Yasiel Puig, Christian Yelich and More

What a day it was in Major League Baseball and social media did not disappoint. Yasiel Puig returned to Dodger Stadium and hit a bomb off Clayton Kershaw in his first at-bat. Christian Yelich went deep, and deep and deep again, continuing an offensive tear of historic proportions. And speaking of history, baseball celebrated Jackie Robinson with the respect that he deserves on the 72nd anniversary of his MLB debut.

This is a script Hollywood might reject: The Cincinnati Reds’ Yasiel Puig, in his first game back at Dodger Stadium, facing Clayton Kershaw (in his own return from injury), goes deep in his first at-bat.

Christian Yelich’s night started good and got better from there. Three home runs and seven RBIs for the reigning National League MVP (and a little girl got a dog, too!)

Those epic performances came on Jackie Robinson Day, when every player across baseball wore No. 42 to honor the Dodgers’ trail-blazing legend. The Dodgers even wore their throwback Brooklyn uniforms and came back to beat Puig and the Reds.
