As the 2025-26 Major League Baseball offseason unfolds, several high-profile players are drawing attention as potential trade candidates. With teams evaluating their rosters and strategizing for the upcoming season, key figures across multiple positions have emerged as possible movers during the winter months.

Leading the list of trade possibilities is Detroit Tigers left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal. Coming off a strong season, Skubal has developed into a legitimate front-line starter, prompting interest from multiple teams looking to bolster their rotation. The Tigers, currently building toward long-term contention, may be open to dealing their ace in exchange for a package of young talent.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte is another name generating discussion. Known for his switch-hitting ability and positional versatility, Marte remains a consistent contributor at the plate. While he is under team control for several more seasons, Arizona may explore offers if the potential return significantly improves their long-term outlook.

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton also appears in trade conversations. Buxton has been a dynamic player both offensively and defensively when healthy. However, his recurring injury issues have marked his career. The Twins may consider moving him to reallocate resources or obtain more consistent production in the outfield.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta rounds out a group of players expected to be monitored closely. Peralta has shown flashes of dominance and remains under a team-friendly contract, making him a potentially valuable asset for clubs seeking to reinforce their starting rotation.

Other players rumored to be on the trade block include controllable veterans and promising prospects blocked at the major league level. With front offices weighing competitive windows and payroll flexibility, the 2025-26 offseason could feature significant movement.

While no deals have been finalized, the dynamics of the winter market will likely hinge on how aggressively teams pursue these and other available players. As spring training approaches, front-office decisions made over the coming weeks will shape rosters and the competitive landscape for 2026.
