Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns (1-6) will attempt to snap their six-game losing streak when they meet the Toronto Raptors (7-1) at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The game will air on Fox Sports – Arizona at 10 p.m. ET on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Toronto Raptors at Phoenix Suns ATS Prediction

The Raptors will be hoping for a similar outcome after easily covering the 6-point spread against the Philadelphia 76ers in their last game, 129-112. The game’s combined points (241) were over the projected point total of 228. The Raptors forced 23 turnovers and had an effective field goal percentage of 0.571 (above their season average of 0.541). With 31 points on 10-for-19 shooting, Kawhi Leonard was the top scorer from either team.

In the Suns’ last outing, they lost big to the San Antonio Spurs, 120-90. They failed to cover as 6.5-point underdogs. The game’s total points (210) were under the projected point total of 215. San Antonio made good use of their 26 trips to the free throw line, converting on 24 of them (92.3 percent). Phoenix, on the other hand, was 14-18 (77.8 percent). With 21 points on 8-for-16 shooting, T.J. Warren led Phoenix in scoring.

The Raptors won both games against the Suns last season. In the most recent matchup, Toronto won 115-109. Toronto had a better turnover percentage (5.4 vs. 10.1). Phoenix, on the other hand, did an excellent job of getting and making free throws (27-34; 79.4 percent).

Toronto holds records of 7-1 straight up (SU) and 4-4 against the spread (ATS). Of the Raptors’ eight games, seven have finished over the total.

Meanwhile, Phoenix is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS. Games involving the Suns also have a tendency to finish over the projected point total (57.1 percent).

The offense of Phoenix will face off against the top-notch defense of Toronto. Dating back to last season, the Suns rank 30th in offensive efficiency, while the Raptors are sixth in defensive efficiency. The Raptors should have the advantage on that end of the court. Ball security should be an advantage for the Raptors. They rank 4th at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 12.9 percent). Conversely, the Suns have forced the second-fewest turnovers in the NBA (opponents’ turnover percentage of 12.7 percent).
