Darrynton Evans (127 rushing yards on 15 attempts, one TD) and Marcus Williams Jr. (58 yards on 13 carries) mounted the running game as Corey Sutton (four receptions, 101 yards, one TD) and Thomas Hennigan (four catches, 60 yards) led the pass-catching corps in the win.

Troy has run the ball on 59.2 percent of its offensive possessions this year while Appalachian State has a rush percentage of 62.0 percent. The Trojans have rushed for 191 yards/game (including 201 per game against Sun Belt opponents) and have 19 touchdowns on the ground this year.
