TUF 27 Finals Odds For Friday

TUF 27 Finals Odds

TUF 27 Finals Odds – This Friday night the UFC kicks off a big weekend with the Finals of their 27th season of The Ultimate Fighter. The final episode of the season airs on July 4th and will decide the featherweight finalists for Friday. In the lightweight final, Joe Giannetti is set to face Mike Trizano.

It has been a long time running for “The Ultimate Fighter.” This season was dubbed “Undefeated” as all the fighters on the TV show cast had not lost thusfar in MMA. Though season 1 winner Diego Sanchez is still on the UFC roster, fighters from the early episodes are starting to retire and it has been more than a dozen seasons where things have generally been non-descript. The winners will go into the UFC roster with the best paydays, and the also rans will fill out undercards for the next few years.

TUF 27 Finals Odds

The middleweight main event for the evening is close to a pick ’em fight as Brad Tavares (17-4) faces undefeated Israel Adesanya (13-0).

Tavares has been around the UFC for a while, going 5-1 in his last six fights. The lone loss comes to Robert Whittaker, who has since gone on to win the title in the division. The weight class remains top heavy in talent and Tavares was blown out by Whittaker in less than a minute, so he is going to need more than just a win to keep moving up the rankings.

Adesanya has gone 2-0 since joining the UFC and he is coming off a tough split decision win over Marvin Vettori this past April. For him, the seasoned Tavares represents a step up fight in the UFC. The Nigerian born Adesanya is brimming with confidence and you just know that the UFC would not mind having a guy from Africa’s biggest economy blow up. As a fighter with a base in kickboxing he has the style to be a crowd pleaser. With all due respect to Tavares, the UFC roster must have at least 100 Brazilian fighters on it.

The UFC has put a feel good ladies match in the 125 pound flyweight division betwween Barb Honchak (10-3) and Roxanne Modaferri (21-14). Both ladies are long time veterans of women’s MMA and both have paid their dues. Both fought in December’s TUF 26 Finale and took losses so it is good to see them return. The pair fought on a smaller show back in 2011. That fight saw Honchak finish Modaferri with a rear naked choke deep in the fight. Both are over 35 years old at this point and neither will affect the title picture, but you can look for an entertaining tussle come Friday.

Below are the odds as we are in fight week. Check back closer to fight time for odds for the featherweight and lightweight finals and other changes.
