UFC 187 Odds: Daniel Cormier And Anthony Johnson Battle For Vacant Light Heavyweight Belt

The UFC 187 card is roughly two weeks away, and the lineup is headlined by UFC title fights in the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions.  At light heavyweight, Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson vie for the belt left vacant by Jon Jones, while at middleweight, titleholder Chris Weidman defends his title as he faces Vitor Belfort.

Johnson is riding a winning streak of nine fights and, since he has stopped trying to cut weight to welterweight and middleweight like he did earlier in his career, he has looked unstoppable.  In his last outing, he destroyed Alexander Gustafsson in Sweden, earning the first round stoppage without a lot of effort.  Cormier looked unstoppable, until his last outing where he was outclassed by former Jones in a title bid.  Unexpectedly, he now gets a second shot in a row at the title, and he will want to make the most of it.

In the middleweight matchup, Weidman is making the third defense of the title he took from legendary former champion Anderson Silva.  Weidman defeated Silva in a re-match that ended with Silva’s gruesome leg break, and he dominated Lyoto machida in his next title defense.  Nevertheless, he has battled injury and has not fought enough, and even this fight is happening after a postponement for Weidman to heal.  When all is said and done, Belfort is fighting for the first time in 18 months and, at 38 years old, it remains to be seen what kind of shape he comes in for  this one.
