UFC 192 Odds: Daniel Cormier Battles Alexander Gustafsson For Light Heavyweight Title

This Saturday in Houston, Texas the UFC 192 event goes down with a light heavyweight title fight between champion Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson as the main event.

For Cormier, it is a critical match and one that he likely needs a big performance in.  Gustafsson is two years removed from his epic fight with Jon Jones, and he is coming off a loss where Anthony Johnson wiped him out.  Cormier went deep into the third round with Johnson to capture the belt that Jones vacated.  Cormier has lived with the spectre of Jones being the true, uncrowned champion since he was stripped. That impression was heightened this week when Jones wrapped up his legal problems and appeared to pave the way for a comeback.  Cormier could use a clear cut win to raise his stock form where it is now.

The co-main event sees former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks return to take on the challenge of Tyrone Woodley in  a match that could see the winner in the next title fight.  Hendricks has been clamoring for a third bout with champion Robbie Lawler ever since he dropped the title to Lawler last December.  In March he defeated Matt Browne, so a win over Woodley would virtually assure him the next title shot.  Woodley is coming off a solid win over the previously undefeated Kelvin Gastelum, and a win here would give him three victories in a row overall.
