UFC 199 Prelims Results: Ortega vs Guida, Dariush vs Vick, and More!

UFC 199 Prelims will feature Brian Ortega vs Clay Guida.

UFC 199 prelims will have four bouts on Fox Sports 1!

If you can catch the Fight Pass prelims at 6:15pm ET, I’d highly recommend you do. If not, have no fear because the Fox Sports 1 prelims will be airing around 8pm ET. This segment of the UFC 199 prelims will feature rising prospect Brian “T-City” Ortega as he looks to put his grappling skills on display against one of the gamiest veterans of all, Clay Guida. Beneil Dariush is also featured on these UFC 199 prelims; he will look to bounce back from his submission loss to Michael Chiesa earlier this year as he faces James Vick. Do not miss these UFC 199 prelims, and be sure to refresh the page for live results below:

Alex Caceres out-classes Cole Miller with decision win

On short notice, Alex Caceres put on one of the best performances of his career as he out-struck and out-classed Cole Mille for a decision win.

Caceres’ left straight, body kicks, and lead uppercut battered Miller throughout the 15 minutes. On the feet, Miller had little to offer other than cover up and survive. Caceres stayed mobile and used great angles while Miller stayed flat-footed and found Caceres circling around to his back several times. While Caceres scored several trips and takedowns, he wanted very little to do with Miller’s grappling game. In fact, Miller threatened Caceres a few times on the mat. In the third round, Miller looked on a near-armbar and even ended the bout in full mount, but it was too little too late. Great win for Alex Caceres.

Jessica Andrade batters Jessica Penne for second round win

The Brazilian, Jessica Andrade, put her aggressive flurry-striking on display ala John Lineker en route to a second round stoppage.

The ref came in to save Penne who had nothing to offer other than covering up. Consistantly, Penne backed herself into the corner and allowed the physical force that is Jessica Andrade to tee off with body-head combinations. Wild hooks slammed against a pure defensive Jessica Penne time and time again. A dominant, vicious performance by Jessica Andrade who may have a bright future in the strawweight division. This was Andrade’s strawweight debut, and with her physical frame and aggresive flurrying, I see her giving most of the top ten problems.

Beneil Dariush KOs James Vick with left

A sensational performance turned by Beneil Dariush who took this fight after suffering the upset defeat to Michael Chiesa in his last bout. Dariush repeatedly landed his left hook on Vick en route to a lights out KO in the first round.

The action got off to a bit of a slow start as two cases of eye pokes to Dariush had to pause the action. Once it got underway, Dariush stunned Vick with an overhand left. Vick was able to recover by hanging on in the clinch, but suffered some serious damage. Once they separated, another left hook put Vick on wobbly legs. Dariush followed it up with another clean left hook to put Vick unconscious on the mat.

Very impressive performance by Dariush against a previously undefeated prospect in James Vick. He needed this following the Chiesa lost, and it’s clear that his striking has improved leaps and bounds. Dariush landed several strong leg kicks during the bout, but his punching power seems to be very evident now.

Brian Ortega KOs Clay Guida with desperate knee

The stars have aligned for “T-City” Brian Ortega who scored a desperado knee knockout in round three.

Rounds one, two, and much of three were going well for Clay Guida until Ortega decided to turn it up. Throughout much of the bout, Ortega failed to land cleanly on the extremely mobile Guida, and was losing just enough of the exchanges to need a finish in round three. Ortega did just that.

Unable to prompt a ground exchange, Ortega finally began pushing forward on the feet and matching Guida’s sporatic footwork. Ortega moved forward behind his hands, but was setting up the knee strike. On the third attempt, Ortega caught Guida ducking into it and scored the desperado KO. Fantastic performance by Ortega who undoubtedly will be a force in the featherweight division. While we didn’t get to see his fantastic ground game, his boxing looked very solid. He struggled to land cleanly, but technique wise he looked very good. Exciting performance by Ortega!
