UFC Fight Night 72 Odds: Michael Bisping Battles Thales Leites

at UFC 127 at Acer Arena on February 27, 2011 in Sydney, Australia.

The UFC is in Scotland this weekend with Fight Night 72, an event headlined by the middleweight bout between Michael “The Count” Bisping and Brazil’s Thales Leites.

Bisping has not won two fights in a row since notching two wins back in 2011, so he is looking to break out of the “win, loss, won, loss” pattern he has not been able to snap for nearly four years.  You have to give Bisping credit because he has been written off several times throughout his now very long UFC career, he has managed to keep himself relevant and he still has confidence in himself.

Those are important factors that may be augmented by Bisping fighting in Great Britain.  Leites however is one of the hot hands in the weight class, having reeled off eight wins in a row overall and five in a row with the UFC.

As expected, the card is packed with athletes from the British Isles as Scotland’s Joanne Calderwood takes on Cortney Casey, England’s Ross Pearson faces the challenge of Evan Dunham and Irish Joe Duffy faces Ivan Jorge.

Calderwood is in an especially interesting fight, as her last outing saw here lose to unsung Maryna Moroz via a fast submission to derail her title shot.  Now she faces a newcomer in Casey, but Calderwood needs to prove something as a lot of the hype she had when she was 9-0 has disappeared after just one loss.
