UFC Fight Night 82 Main Card Odds For This Saturday

UFC Fight Night 82 Main Card Odds – The MGM Grand in Las Vegas is hosting the UFC Fight Night 82 event this Saturday, February 6th. The main event of the evening sees former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks (17-3) return to face up and coming Stephen Thompson (11-1).

Since losing the welterweight belt to Robbie Lawler, Hendricks has been in UFC limbo. He also owns a win over Lawler and a third bout to close the trilogy is something that Hendricks and his camp have been clamoring for. Not only did Hendricks not get his re-match, but last March he fought and beat the tough Matt Brown in a bout that should have led to a title bout, but it didn’t. Now, after a long lay-off, Hendricks is back serving as a divisional doorman for an up and coming prospect in Thompson, and this is not where Hendricks used to be.

Thompson is 6-1 in the UFC, with his lone loss coming to the aforementioned Matt Brown. Since that loss however, he has won five in a row and a win over Hendricks would signal his arrival in the welterweight division’s top tier.

The co-main event comes in the Heavyweight division as big Jared Rosholt (14-2) gets a step-up fight as he faces veteran Roy Nelson (20-12). Nelson is the doorman for this one, as he has long been a fixture of the heavyweight division. Rosholt has a 6-1 UFC record and has strung together 3 wins in a row. In his last outing back in November, Rosholt won a unanimous decision over Stefan Struve, easily the biggest name on his resume. Struve is unreliable as a fighter these days, so the fading Nelson will represent his toughest test to date. Nelson has lost three fights in a row and is in a tailspin that has seen him lose five of his last six fights overall. A loss for Rosholt would be a major setback for him.

UFC Fight Night 82 Main Card Odds and More

Of particular interest to some fans of pro wrestling will be the opening fight of the evening, which airs on the UFC’s Fight Pass and features welterweights Mike Jackson taking and Mickey Gall in a three round bout. Gall is coming in a big favorite, and if the young fighter from New Jersey does win, he has been told by UFC President Dana White that he will be the opponent for WWE wrestler turned UFC fighter Phil Brooks, aka “CM Punk”.
