UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson Fight Pass Results

Fight Pass results are beginning!

UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson is coming to us live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stay tuned for live results of tonight’s fights. The action starts off on Fight Pass, so we’ll begin with the Fight Pass results. Will Artem Lobov live up to his talk and establish himself as a threat in the UFC, or will the young start-up Alex White use him as a stepping stone? Also on Fight Pass is the UFC debut of Mickey Gall as he takes on Mike Jackson. If Gall wins, it has been said that he will face CM Punk at the tentative date of UFC 199.

Alex White decisions Artem Lobov

It was an entertaining 15-minute affair to start off UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson, but in the end it was Alex White who was the sharper fighter. Lobov started out great, and looked to be a much more composed and disciplined version of himself. However, White used sharp, straight punches and beautiful angle work to strike and avoid the counter haymakers from Lobov. Furthermore, White mixed in takedowns to keep Lobov guessing throughout the 3 round. White took all three rounds unanimously despite a late third-round rally from the adopted Irishman.

Lobov turned to more reckless measures as the fight went on, but that caused his conditioning to fail him late. On the flip side, Alex White seemed to settle into his own and become more comfortable as the fight went on. It’s a tough loss for Lobov, and a great win for Alex White who may begin a successful 2016.

Gall drops, chokes out Mike Jackson; CM Punk is next

Mickey Gall made well on his anticipated UFC debut and turned his 1-0 record into 2-0. He took the center early and stalked a loose Mike Jackson who was circling around on the outside. Gall put a single right hand to the jaw of Jackson, and followed up by taking the back and securing the rear-naked choke in under a minute. You can count on Mickey Gall taking on CM Punk later this year. While Gall is still green and vastly improving, he actually looked like a pretty skillful guy. He seems to handle media pressure, and looked extremely relaxed coming into his UFC debut. CM Punk and Mickey Gall squared off in the Octagon after Gall’s victory, but it wasn’t the heated staredown than many might have expected. Instead, CM Punk and Gall shook hands and even seemed to engage in some discussion inside the Octagon.

It’s difficult to see what skills CM Punk can come in and threaten Mickey Gall with, but we’ll see over the next few months. We know CM Punk has had some Brazilian jiu-jitsu experience, but has been training at Roufusport for the last year with Duke Roufus – a reknowned striking coach. We’ll see if CM Punk can come in and present anything that an impressive Mickey Gall may have a hard time dealing with.

CM Punk voiced that he wants to fight on UFC 200, but rumors have spelled UFC 199 as the more likely date. Nevertheless, Mickey Gall picks up an impressive first round finish, and will face the former entertainment wrestler in CM Punk.

That’s it for UFC Fight Pass results! Stay tuned for the rest of the card.
