UFC on Fox 21 Main Card Odds

UFC on Fox 21 Main Card Odds – The UFC on Fox 21 card comes to us this Saturday night from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada with a card headlined by welterweight veterans Demian Maia and Carlos Condit in a five-round clash.

Condit is a former interim title holder and he is coming off a failed bid to win the title this past January when he lost a split decision to Robbie Lawler. Including the lost fight to Lawler, Condit is 2-4 in his last six fights and is likely facing a lot of work to get back into the title picture. Beating Maiawill let him start a winning streak, but he will have to do more. Maia is a guy who gets very little respect and despite nearly 10 years with the UFC, he is more often remembered for falling just short of the title picture. He enters this fight in the midst of the best run of his career, as he is riding a five fight winning streak. Because of his history and a decided lack of charisma, even a win does not assure Maia a title shot next, though he would be deserving. With the UFC looking to make big money fights, titleholder Terrell Woodley could be facing Georges St Pierre or a Diaz brother next, and it would be a shame to see Maia passed over at 38, especially if he defeats Condit.

The co-main event sees featherweights Charles Oliveira and Anthony Pettis fight in a bout pacted at three rounds. Pettis is a former lightweight champion, but a three fight losing streak at 155 pounds sees him heading south. There to meet him is Oliveira, a solid veteran who has won five of his last six fights. Pettis is going to have to show that the weight cut was not too steep for him, and he really needs a win. Oliveira is coming off an outing where he finished prospect Myles Jury in the opening round via guillotine choke. For him, a win over Pettis here would leave him firmly in the crowded 145 pound title picture.

Paige VanZant (6-2) is being hyped as a potential new face for the UFC in the women’s divisions, and she faces Bec Rawlings in a fight slated for the FOX broadcast. The 22 year old is coming off a loss to Rose Namajumas in her last outing, and that was way back in December. For her part, Rawlings is 7-4 overall but she has won two UFC fights in a row.

Veteran lightweights Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon lock up in a rematch in a fight that delivered fireworks the first time. Both men have a lot of ring time and a lot of wars under their belts.
