UFC on FOX 24 Main Event Odds For Saturday

UFC on FOX 24 Main Event Odds for Saturday – The UFC is in Kansas City this Saturday night with their 24th edition of the UFC on FOX.

This should be a fun UFC, but if you’re a fan of the heavyweights you should know this is a showcase for the lighter weight classes. The combined weights of the two fighters paired in the main bouts is still less than what Brock Lesnar weighs. Nevertheless, this UFC card is a chance to watch the men’s 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson, who is pound-for-pound probably the finest fighter on the planet right now. Because the UFC has not fully developed the flyweight class, Johnson does not get the credit he deserves, but this fight will be his tenth defense of the belt he won back in September of 2012.

Challenger Wilson Reis brings a strong 22-6 record entering the match and he is riding a three-fight winning streak. He is 6-2 overall in the UFC and he also boasts a long run with Bellator earlier in his career so the Brazilian has been around the international game for more than half a decade. Though he is a game competitor and has scored a few solid wins in his career, there is nothing on his resume to indicate he has what it takes to topple Johnson. Johnson walks into this fight a strong favorite, though some are picking Reis to at least go the distance.

The co-feature sees the 115-pound females front and center as Rose Namajunas faces off against Michelle Waterson. Waterson brings a 14-4 record to the fight and she has gone 2-0 in the UFC. Namajunas is now 3-2 in the UFC and she is looking to avoid a two-fight losing streak. We last saw her losing to Karolina Kowalkiewicz via split decision this past July and she is looking to get back on the winning track. Waterson missed nearly 18 months between fights and she is looking to build momentum coming off her December win against Paige Van Zant. These are not just pretty faces though they will both be pumped up that way, both women are fierce competitors.

Middleweights Robert Whittaker and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza tangle in a fight between two men looking to get into the 185-pound title picture. Whittaker is riding a solid six-fight winning streak in the UFC while Souza has won 10 of his last 11 fights. The current UFC middleweight titleholder is Michael Bisping and the winner will have a clear case for a title shot against the Brit. Should Whittaker win, it could lead to the UFC middleweight title being contested between two members of Britain’s commonwealth, as Whittaker is an Australian. Souza is a jujitsu whiz who is known as one of the hardest competitors to compete against, but at 37 his window of opportunity during his prime is beginning to close.
